Latest Check-Ins

We visited this morning for oil and filter change for 2 BMW r1200gs and we have been quoted 500$ (yes dollars), 1L of 10w50 engine oil quoted at 41$. I don’t know if this was a plain and simple scam or the imported oil really cost so much, in any case AVOID TO DO ANY WORK ON YOUR BIKE IN IRAN. P.s I bought an oil with the same specs for 9$ per little on shops on the same road, but the mechanic insists that’s “fake oil”. I can’t judge but the result is the same, if you are traveling avoid Iran for any work if possible, Turkey or Pakistan are much better.

EDIT: it was not about the oil! When they changed the timing chain, they misfitted it and let the bike run like that for maybe 150m. They corrected their mistake, but the piston had already a crack. So the high oil consumption afterwards was not related to the oil, but to the crack in the piston. The piston broke 2700km later, the broken part got stuck in the valves, the engine overheated and the head was „decorated“ with melted pieces of Aluminum. We had to organize parts from Europe, lost our Turkmenistan visa and a lot of money.
Mr. Mohammad offered help, but after waiting for more than 2 hours in front of his closed shop and trying to get in contact with him despite the appointment he made with us, we went to a small and very clean workshop about 30m left.
People make mistakes, but then should keep their word to help. Maybe we were unlucky and he had a bad day, but a cracked engine is no fun.

Report Check-In

Edit: travelove! Leaving the place to continue our trip the DR350 was not running properly. I checked the valves and they were wrongly adjusted. While doing it Icdiscovered that the decompression cable was not fitted correctly, the reason why the engine died in left turns. Clutch cable was not installed correctly in the holding and sliding at the front fender, where the cable of the oil temperature display broke. A fixing point for infliction cable was wrongly reassembled and not usable. After checking the timing chain again, I discovered that the securing plate of the wheel for the timing chain mounted on the camshaft was not tightened accurately and for the two bolts no bolt glue was used as recommended by Suzuki or any other manufacturer. Maybe he had a bad day. Maybe he should stick to oil change. That is what others used this place for. If you need to get something fixed and want to use this place watch every step and move he does.

Edit: the oil we got seemed to be a fake „Motul“. Oil consumption horrendous after oilchange. 2,50€/l might be too cheap to be original. We found the real Motul oil in other places for 8€ and with slightly different design on the bottles. So better bring your own oil.

We got an oil change (Motul 10W50), timing chain change, decompression cable fixed, kickstarter fixed, some gaskets changed and bought 1 extra litre of oil. We spent nearly a full day there, got tea and lunch and payed 54€. Highly recommended!
Mohmmad speaks little English, but his work is far over european standards!
Phone number is wrong! Just drop by and ask for appointment.

We stopped here, and got a full service for our Honda CRF 250s (incl. Oil and Air Filters).
Mohamad is actually the boss, and Reza is not working here anymore, so the phone number needs to be updated.

Otherwise everything is already said, super nice, good work, fair price.

Great Mechanics! they work to European standards or probably more so don’t be afraid to bring your bike here! Especially if you are in need of a spare part this guys are quite likely your best option, they even got me a new injection pump! Plus friendly atmosphere in the shop and they make you feel welcomed while you wait, I totally recomend them

Visited this workshop today. Amazing place, Mr Raza and rest of the teams are great mechanics. Came to the shop to rebuild my rear brake pads but they had new spares , which was great (Triumph Tiger 955i), not easy spares to find for Triumph in this part of the world). They also helped me to restore flatness on the brake disc. Amazing job quality. All spoken in English (contacted Raza on below number, GPS is also accurate)

Service does not end on that, We were offered full lunch and tea as a gift! I These guys are just amazing., they really are. Definitely do recommend them. Also we have seen many parts for big bikes, oils and other liquids, which is rare in Iran.
Afshin, thank you for taking us for a tea and driving to the moto clothes shop :-)

Wish any bike mechanic was like this! Had an oil and filter change, replaced rear brake pads and had my rear suspension adjusted, which is really annoying on my Kawasaki KLE500. Total of 2-3 hours of work, charged me €87 for it, not bad considering they gave me diner, a total checkup and various adjustments (lubricating cables, cleaning the chain, replace lost bolts) for free! These guys just radiate love for motorbikes!

Awesome place to do maintenance or urgent repairs. Reza (head mechanic) is amazing and very competent. He treats you like a royal guest.

I also have an xt660z and had maintenance there:
I did an oil change. Cleaned out the radiator and changed the coolant. Checked the valves and rear suspension. Changed the spark plug and bought some spare parts of them. All that for about 60 euro. They work on all kinds of big bikes also BMWs (they have diagnostics tool)

Probably the best motorcycle garage in Iran. A lot of overlanders have stopped here and all know Reza. He is very helpful and speaks English. (His number is +98 (0) 912 737 1156)
