Description

Place with a great view of the waterfall. Reachable by an 8 km gravel road (30 minutes), but possible with 2x4. Also a nice overnight site, but very cold!!

You can also walk there from Semonkong lodge, a nice one-hour walk through the villages.

New foreigner price : 130 rand per person !
Amazing indeed...

Report Check-In

100 rand fee per person to get in now :( camping at the waterfall will be chargeable in near future. Road is still in very bad condition, high clearance needed, 4x4 if wet

They are building a visitor centre here but at the moment you can park just before it and walk down. The 8km took 30 minutes in our big rig, worth the detour for sure.

Great spot, even the night was really cold! No one came by even as we camped clearly visible on the top in the grass. Nice little walk the next morning down to the viewpoint.

even on weekend in the evening you are alone here. During the day you can enjoy the peoples live on weekend.
We loved the place
be careful in rain! Friends get stuck in the soft ground on the way to the grassy area ( as soon you leave the road) took them 2 days to get the truck out. As long it is dry no problem at all

Report Check-In

nice walk from Semonkong Lodge to the waterfall : 3 hours to go and come back. easy to find because you cross villages.

Report Check-In

Beautiful viewpoint, but I recommend coming in the afternoon as the sun blinds your view in the morning. From this point you can walk about 600 m to the best viewpoint. Also recommend to come here in summer, as in winter the waterfall is almost dry. Road can be done in 2WD but high ground clearance is essential.
I wouldn't want to camp here as there were too many people around.
