We cannot recommend this place enough. Ruben and Lordes are gracious hosts. The room was clean, the accepted our large 60 pound dog, the courtyard area was nice to hang out in and it is centrally located to downtown for shopping and restaurants. Ruben really went above and beyond for us by helping us translate with the police when we found that our overlanding vehicle we were waiting on arriving had been broken into and we had many items stolen while it was sea. Ruben spent 3 hours with us helping us sort things out.

If you are visiting Santa Marta or waiting for your shop to arrive with your vehicle, you should stay here.

We loved stayed with Ruben and his family. They are amazing people. Our room was clean, the AC was a perfect plus to escape the heat in Santa Marta and the breakfast was delicious. The location is perfect, especially if you have to pick up your vehicle after shipment. Ruben is a perfect host and goes out of his way to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Ruben and his wife are super awesome. this us their house which they have converted into a small hostal. they have a dog and allow dogs from guests. we stayed here while waiting for our van to arrive and again after picking it up (parked our from). the neighborhood is safe. he didn't charge us for our last night in a room. there's a few little restaurants and stores nearby and city taxis are a flat $6,000

This is an awesome, very friendly home environment type hostel! Rubén the owner speaks great English and is more than friendly! You can park you car or van, truck out front and have a great night sleep at his place!
