Description

There are two 'steps' or plateaus where you can camp. There are some dongas/ditches so it's best to have 4x4.
Great views of the ocean and Shipwreck Beach.
The military is in the area and come to check passports from time to time. Otherwise isolated and private enough to spend a couple of days in peace.

Ships are still there, amazing spot. I arrived early and saw 3 men sitting near the water, but I went up to the described cliff with my bicycle and set up camp. Nobody came around. There is a lot of glass on the beach, most of it not very sharp.

Report Check-In

Not possible to camp anymore. barrier at the end of the beach and guard sitting at the first higher level. We parked beside the track leading to the beach.

Still there, still as described. Amazing view over the wrecks. Policeman came by to show off his badge, ID and gun and check our passports. A bit weird but friendly. 5 bars unitel 3g.

We arrived very late and didn't go all the way to the top of the hill, but rather to the back of the first step where we had shelter from the wind. It was a peaceful night, didn't see the military men. We only saw a few locals this morning as we left. Very good spot for an overnight.

A good place if you arrive late afternoon that you can head on into town the following morning. There are two plateaus to stay with your car. First step to drive up is quite washed out but we managed it. The second step ist just very steep, no problem at all. Here is also a chance to drive around the hill. No climbing up. For this you take the road uphill on your right befor you reach the washed out way up. Probably some 2km befor.

Amazing view, very quiet. A must visit!! Thanks for sharing.
A military came to check out passports, professional and nice.
Possible for any size of car and 4x4 in our view not needed.

Report Check-In

Perfect place to sleep and make some photos. It’s better to get in by the other route, the path is not so steepy, so 4x4 is not necessary. You have to follow the signals of a not constructed hotel. Two militar men came to check our passports and offer their help.

Report Check-In

Indeed a steep hill, but the road towards the steeper hill is more bumpy and rugged. Definitely 4x4 needed.

Nice view.

Very nice Location with the best views on whole Shipwreck Beach. In the Evening some Soldiers came by to see our Passports. Apart from that nobody disturbed us. Try to avoid walking in the high gras, there are some biting Insects. In the Morning we saw some Dolphins playing around the Shipwrecks! :) Bring some Glasses for best views.

Awesome spot on top of a clifftop overlooking the beach and wrecks. Turn at the spot marked here. No shade but private and quiet. Dry at this point in time so we had no trouble getting up the steep track in 4x4.

Report Check-In

climb the hill here on a small path (best to have 4x4)
nice view to the sea with the wracks. We stayed there for two days without any problems
