Latest Check-Ins

Adding info: Jaime is building a kitchen and extra bathroom, but it will take a while.

Tuk-tuk or van to Caraz: 3 soles (for the couple)

Fantastic overlanding place! Has everything you need and Jaime is very friendly and helpful. Good place to meet overlanders too and perfect for exploring the cordilleras. New facilities including kitchen and laundry is built and ready soon!

Loved it here - so chill, grass, hot shower, wifi, strawberries, and the best of all - Turka the dog. And of course Jaime is the nicest person ever.

You will come for one night and end up staying for 5... it's hard not to !!

Caraz is a cool little town and all the best hikes / trips to the National Park are so much closer than from Huaraz. You can also easily arrange transport to / from Santa Cruz trek. Plus Pony Expeditions in town can rent you gear if you don't have it.

Great bathroom. Excellent host; friendly but leaves you alone when you wish. 3 soles moto taxi ride back from walk into town.

Everything everyone says about Jaime and his staff is not enough. This is a great guy and a great camp. Hard to just stay one night, very appealing to stay for over a couple of nights. Walking distance to town, relaxed area... great wifi and shower.

This place ends up feeling like home. Hot showers, nice grassy areas, good wifi, a huge dish washing sink with perpetually temperate weather and lots of overlander friends. Jaime is the ultimate problem solver and his beautiful family is so warm and accommodating. It's a great quiet location close to town and also to some great hikes and climbs.

We loved staying here. Such great weather, Jaime is super nice, everything you need. Collectivo to centro and markets less than 1s, mototaxi 2 soles.

Perfect place to stay for some nights. He is building new bathrooms for more people as well as a new Kitchen house (in future). Flat parking on a grassy area, everything is clean and the WiFi is very good. 15 Soles p.P.. You could also leave your car for 15 Soles a night and go hiking at the lagunas. Recommended stay!

This place is really lovely, especially if you want to visit Laguna Paron. Flat parking, showers, wifi and electricity. Quiet at night and an easy walk to town.

Been here almost a month now...it's the perfect spot to base yourself for all the amazing things to do and see in the Cordillera Blanca!! Plus the owner is very friendly, the place is beautiful, the wifi is fast, and the little town of Caraz is so much more mellow than Huaraz. (Definitely hit up the Sunday market - you can find almost everything there!!) 15s per person and, if you leave your car, 15s/day...

This definitely is one of the best places we've stayed so far. The shower is hot, wifi fast, and Jaime is super friendly (so is Turka the dog). Only bummer is that we didn't run into any other overlanders while we were here.

Camping Guadelupe is one of the best places we've stayed in our entire trip. Super peaceful, incredibly clean bathroom, fast wifi, electricity hookup, and Turka- the worlds friendliest dog. Yet all this is dwarfed by how friendly and helpful Jaime is. He never hesitated to stop and give us mountains of info about the region, and suggestions on the route ahead. Super safe place to store the vehicle for trekking. Our only regret is that we can't stay longer.

One of the better places we've stayed. Jamie is endlessly helpful. He loves overlanders, taking photos of the different setups, & having people here. We asked him for a recommendation for a mechanic to fix our roof rack and he dropped everything to fix it himself within an hour. He also has good info on the surrounding area & the Santa Cruz trek (this is a great place to leave your rig for the trek). Super nice dog & adorable daughters, as well as perfect wifi & an impeccably clean bathroom. Don't miss it!

Excellent. Still 15 s pp pn. Jaime came round to check everything was ok. New development should be ready around July 2017. He also told us about a road blocked by a landslide on our route and telephoned to find out if it was cleared. If you return from Caraz town in a motor taxi just get dropped at the main road as Jaime doesn't like them coming down the track to the drive (presumably for security reasons).

Very nice Campground. Caime is a great Host. Very fast Internet. Quiet and clean place☺

One of The best place in S-America, we love it.😊
If you don't stop here, you make a BIG mistake.

Excelente lugar para descansar unos días, el baño súper limpio, la ducha con agua caliente excelente , la atención de Jaime fenomenal, el internet súper rápido y bueno, y el lugar Ahhh súper hermoso!!!15pp :) no dejen de venir!

Wonderful place to spend a few days recharging. Perfect facilities for campers, and the Internet is impressively fast (pw: 12345678). Do yourself a favor and stop by when you are in the area.

Awesome place. We arrived at night and in the dark it looked a bit nondescript but after we found Jaime and he showed us around we immediately felt very welcome. Jaime is incredibly friendly, dedicated and thorough in everything he does. Internet is fastfast, shower and bathroom very nice and clean, potable water, nice grass, place to wash dishes etc. Jaime is very knowledgeable about the area and can help you get started to plan any treks. Also a good place to park your car if doing the santa cruz trek. Ps he also let us use his nice bbq day after day. Recommended!

Very nice place to relax. there is a really nice bbq we used to make communal dinners with fellow overlander. fast internet.

The long list of positive comments about this place says it all. We stopped after passing through the amazing Cañon del Pato, and before climbing higher into the Sierra. Good place to acclimatize.

clean, hot shower, good wifi, perfekt...

For tent its 15sol per person (even if you don't use electricity), but yes this place is clean, nice, quiet, very friendly and with a good wifi!! Shower with electric head. Quite hot. A little bit for away to the city center. Muy perfecto para descansar.

What a great place to rest and relax a few days. Jaime is the perfect host and helpful in any matter. Internet is maybe the fastest in South America.

A very recommandible place, well maintaned and quiet! Comfortable
and very clean bathroom. Very friendly owner!

A very recommandible pl

perfect place to camp with fastest wifi since long time! if you want to store your vehicle (if you do a multi day hike or so) you pay 10soles per day per camper for storage.

Yes, this rapidly is becoming a meeting point for overlanders. Indeed, Jaime reserves this place for overlanders only, and it is quiet, safe, comfortable, like an oasis. We stayed two weeks. The new facilities are scheduled to be finished by years end. They will have several toilets for women and men with separate showers, i. e. toilets accessible when showers are in use and vice versa. New ample kitchen doubling as a gathering place and more level grassy parking spaces. A washer and dryer will be set up also.

A great friendly clean place to meet other Overlanders. Thx Jaime, well done!
In December 2016 he will finish a new building with a kitchen, a sanitary block and a laundry incl dryer!
Seems to be a new Overlander meeting point in Peru!

Very nice and calm palce. Jaime makes it hard to leave. Clean facilities. Wifi is very fast. Close to Caraz. Big rig friendly. And he is very busy to build new facilities.

JUST PERFECT!!! Jamie is a wonderful person and very helpful if you have any problems...
good internet, clean bathroom, electricity and a nice surrounding. Highly recommended!!!

Une bonne étape au milieu de la Cordillère Blanche. Staff accueillant et amical, petit camping très propre et bien entretenu. En cours d'agrandissement...
Très bon WiFi !

Very good place. Très belle endroit ! Wifi rapide ! Sanitaire très propre et eau chaude ! Très bon accueil !

15 Soles per person per night. Very clean and nice toilet and shower in one room. Grassy area. Good wifi. Nice owner.

The reviews below say it all. Great facilities with a fantastic host. Highly recommended.

15s/p, warm showers, flat, decent wifi. Nice facilities. Definitely recommended after hiking in the Cordilleras. The owner is building additional baños, kitchen, washing facilities. It's going to be very nice when done. Owner is okay with late night arrivals.

We could have just not written anything and let all the other comments speak for themselves but really Jaime, Flore and their little (quickly developing) camping is worth a great review. Welcoming, helpful, very well equipped (hot showers, super clean facilities, diy laundry, water, electricity, wifi) for 15S pp. what else do you need? Also Jaime knows the best mechanics in town and took the time to take us and talk money before we do any repairs.

All that you need: hot shower, clean toilet, flat green space to park, excellent wifi connection and a very friendly and helpful owner. All this for 15 soles pp. We wish we could have stayed longer.

It's a nice, well-kept place with clean bathroom and hot shower (15 Soles / person). The wonderful host Jaime makes you feel at home. Besides he is a specialist in mechanical problems and helps you out with everything. Stay here or you miss something. From this place you can make a lot of fantastic trips, for example to the Laguna Parón, to the PN Huascarán, to the Lagunas Llaganuco, to the town Caraz (Sunday market),... From next week onwards there will be Internet at the Camping Guadalupe. So everything you need in a fantastic environment. Flat grassy spots, pets welcome and no hight restrictions.

Parked our van here while we hiked the Santa Cruz. Beautiful farm setting amongst fields of flowers. Jaime is the consummate gentleman, dropped us off at the collectivo in the early AM to start our trek, arranged for a much needed tire rotation, and even guided us to the shop. The nicest shower/toilet/urinal that we've had in S. America. The new kitchen and bathroom facility to be completed by the end of May.

Perfect place as everybody mentioned. We also left our Van here (10S) while hiking for couple of days in the beautiful Cordillera Blanca - completely save! After no showers for days a great hot shower was already waiting for us. We can highly recommend to stay here!!

Beautiful setting and what a great spot to relax after driving through windiee tinny minny roads ...tranquil surrounded by nature mountains, flowers n strawberry fields. If you want to stretch your legs hike up to mirador is good. 3 hours return .. Go down main road via market, turn right at school. Shops at market may look small but we got delicious fruits blueberry, grapes, veggies at fraction of price ...

Camping Guadaloupe. Very good grass, sanitaire clean, view on he Mountains 1 km South of the village Caraz

Nice and quiet campground with a clean bathroom about 1.5 kilometers out of town. Very friendly owner.

Nice and quiet. They are increasing the size of the camping and building more bathrooms and a kitchen.

15 Ns for a great camping place, only missing is the wifi. Jaime even invited me to share food and time with his friends, an hospitality beyond comercial needs :)

Great campground as described in all the comments below: clean facilities, hot water. Jaime was an unbelievable help with my tire/rim/security key issues! Definitely recommended to stay here.

All as before and he is trying hard to get internet. Internet is available in the main plaza and is good from the balcony above the ice cream parlour (they also sell beer). Down loading emails very slow, but uploading photos to my web site was amazingly fast. If you are limited on time you must go to Laguna Paron, road not that bad and amazing views from the lake! surrounded by 8 mountains.

Jaime and his wife are fantastic hosts: Jaime helped us fix our punctured tyres and his wife made a nice cake for our daughter's birthday. They would do anything they can to make your stay enjoyable. The place is very quiet. The only downside is that there is no wifi. We initially didn't plan to go but in the end we stayed 2 nights.

A wonderful place and James give us a lot of information about places to visit. We could clean the car.

Wonderful grassy camp area, very clean bathroom, large sink for dishes & clothes washing, power available. Jamie is a wonderful host & will go above & beyond to make your stay perfect. He is quite knowledgeable on car mechanics & helped us organise places in town to get some jobs done & to make sure the price is right! You will stay here longer than you plan!!!!! Enjoy.

very nice place with hot shower, power and drinking water ! There is no big supermarket in town, but you can get everything on the daily market. we loved the lokal chees. well worth to visit. we took a motortaxi (tuktuk) 3 soles each way. very friendly owner and he is doing a lot too make the place more camper friendly. don't miss it to visit this place.

Such a nice place !! We spent 2 nights here and everything was perfect: really hot shower, very clean bathroom and Jaime is a very nice personn. He helped us for changing one of our shock-absorber who broke on the way to the laguna de Paron.

Great spot! The road to Laguna Paron is not possible to drive with big rigs, but worth while a visit.

Wonderful camping and the owner is very welcoming. Hot shower and good clothes washing station. A nice and peaceful break.

25 soles per night for two people in a tent with motorcycle. Great location and beautiful bathroom and good sink area for dishes and clothes. Jaime is amazing. He is the nicest camp host we have had in the trip. Will help with anything. No wifi yet but great 3G

Fantastic place as described below. Jaime, the extremely friendly owner, offers all kind of day trips with his pick-up if you don't want to do the steep gravel roads with your own car. We made two wonderful day trips with him to the Laguna Paron and Lagunas Llanganuco (see photos). You also can store your car safely at the campground if you want to go hiking for a couple of days. More bathrooms and kitchen as well as cabanas are being planned to offer even more services for the guests. Jaime is extremely helpful with any kind of questions and problems that have to be solved. We stayed here more than one week and still didn't want to leave.

Probably the best place I've stayed in more than three months in South America. Really nice facilities, quite and super friendly owner. He provided us a table and chairs for cooking and even a barbecue. Highly recommendable. Rates are negotiable.

15 soles/person for camping and 15 soles per day to leave your vehicle parked while doing the Santa Cruz trek. Jamie was very helpful helping us organize transport for the trek (in the end we took public transport as it was much cheaper). Nice place to stay.

Nice place, friendly boss, clean wc and shower, hot water, potable water. I would give 5 stars if wifi

Good spot. Paid S/.15 per person. Jaime is a really nice guy and will help with local directions, sights, road conditions, etc.

We paid s15 per person. Jamie and his wife are beyond nice and the place is is tidy. The bathroom and shower along are worth the price.

S15 per person per night. See previous comments of mine. Wanted to add more photos. 😀

Great spot for overlanders. I worked on my truck for a couple days. Town is a two soles moto-taxi ride away. Great bathroom just for us. Park on nice thick grass. Filled up tanks with potable water. Still no Wi-Fi. S20 per person.

Grassy lot in the countryside and friendly owner. Price was raised to 20S per Person. Still no wifi. There's a warm shower and a hand washing station for laundry and dishes.

good and quiet place to stay after a long day. nice campground with new facilities.

An awesome campground just outside of Caraz. Very friendly owner and a great spot. Great bathroom, hot shower, very secure. I dropped my reserve diesel tank off the back of my truck in the canyon approaching Caraz and smashed a large door mirror. Jaime got his mechanic to remove the bracket, get it re welded and reinstalled on a Sunday. Also got new glass cut for my mirror. Incredible assistance for very little cost. Camping is 20 soles per person per night and mechanic repairs incredible reasonable. Still no wifi, but don't let that stop you. it's one of the best I've parked at.

Small and nice campground with clean facilities. Extremely friendly and nice owner. WiFi is still not available but he informed us when we arrived. We paid 15 soles per person.

Great camping and facilities. Potable water and hand wash laundry area. Friendly owner. Look for sign "Guadalupe camping".

Jaime, the owner is extremely friendly, he will go the extra mile to help. We had a problem with our gear box, he called a mechanic who came on site and when the problem could not be fixed he did some research to find a mechanic specialized in gear box in Lima. Bathroom is very clean with hot showers. Look for the sign camping Guadalupe on the road. Highly recommended. Internet to be installed soon.

New campground a little outside of Caraz. Grassy field on a farm. Very friendly owner. Clean toilet and hot shower. Electricity and sink for dish washing. We paid 15 Soles per person.
