Latest Check-Ins

Very nice quiet place, easy to find a level spot, and nice views. Starting to look like a dump though, PLEASE pack out your trash. Be aware the land beyond the campsite is supposedly owned by the armory nearby, gunshots in the AM but at a distance. Make sure to take one of the first two left turns onto the loop, the further down the straightaway you go, the muddier it gets. If you reach a forest service 'road closed' sign you've gone too far.

Gorgeous view, very much in the middle of nowhere. Don’t miss the turn onto 637 because the road to Cheaha to turn around is super wind-y. Came in in a 35 foot skoolie, plenty of level room to park and make a j turn to get out. Safe for well behaved dogs to be off leash. Fire ring looks good.

Report Check-In

Good place to pull into for the night. No fire ring when we were there. No trash.

Just down the road from Cheaha State Park. The road from Cheaha to the turn off is very scenic and narrow, more like 1.5 lanes than 2. Then you take a short dirt road down to an opening in the woods. It’s a bit bumpy, but my 2WD van was fine. Super quiet and secluded. Lots of bugs. Surrounded by downed trees. Decent cell reception - 2 bars. Not bad!

Came here in March 2021 and the land is SO devastated from all the fires, storms & tornadoes. I’m in a 4x4 Sprinter and it’s a day after a very heavy storm. There was too much mud & water to tread through and I didn’t want to take the risk, so I only made it to just outside the camp. Lots of logging trucks parked around the area on the side of the road.. it was difficult to try and turn around with them parked everywhere.

Stayed one night and were the only people here. No facilities and cell reception is spotty on ATT. What this place lacks in amenities it makes up for in scorpions. Yes, scorpions in Alabama. Who knew?!

Report Check-In

Nice peaceful quiet place. Bugs were not thar bad.

We found the Place, and It is still there! Very quiet! Now in Winter you van see a House trough the bushes! We had a very good night, very peaceful!

Cool, windy road (Cheaha Rd.) into the camp. Not a lot of flat spots, but we just moved around until we found something that worked. Quiet, dark, secluded. Lots of wood to have a fire around. Bugs not TOO bad in May. Great for a night.

Report Check-In

Very nice place in the woods.
