There are also 3 chalets available, price unsure, but placed up on the hill and beautiful with whimsical and natural art.

One of those places with massive potential! Clearly someone put a huge amount of investment (money and effort) into setting up a fabulous camp. Then the managers that took over just couldn’t be bothered to maintain it and just like to take the money. Still an okay standard but heading for disrepair. Showers a bit dirty and very scaled up.
The only contact we had with people was when they came asking for camp fees, and even then they were put out that we wouldn’t pay for the other campers that were present (who we didn’t know!).
Plenty of livestock and village dogs passing through camp, and no I’m not a fan of the new spotlight shining into my tent all night - it’s a personal bugbear that humans feel the need to light up the nighttime wildness for the false concept of “safety”!
Okay for an overnighter. N$160pppn.

NAD 160 PPPN, NAD 25 for a very small bundle of wood.
Campsite now upgraded with solar powered flood-lights that illuminates the whole campsite at evening/nights - not especially to my liking, but it might make some people feel safer…?

Friendly welcome as I am a returning guest of many years.
My first visit was back in 2017.

Nice clean well maintained campsite. 5 spots all with sink and fireplace. Hot showers and flush toilets. 160 NAD pppn. Same price if you wanna stay in chalets without sleeping inside. Ask the price if you like to sleep inside. Free to use shower and toilet. Chalets are now managed by same community than campsite.

Fee still 160 pppn. Just want to update our experience. We checked water taps at two pitches they were both working. Hot water and flushing toilets with toilet paper when we were there. Only next morning someone came around to collect the fees.

Still NAD160 pppn. Nice set up. House on the Hill chalets closed for now.

Same as above but the fee is now N$160 per person and as stated does not have power

We only passed through to take some photos. It was lunch time, too early to stop in this heat. Looked like a pleasant campsite and very well maintained. If you want a break from bush camping to have a good shower etc, this seems perfect. No MTC signal.

Very basic camp. No electricity, on our campsites water not running. Watertapes are not working. Shower with warm water, some shower without the showerheads.
Good for overnight on the way to marienfluss.

Too expensive when it’s so easy to Bush camp.
Note: the pass to the north (ie: to Red Drum) is getting pretty bad now, I drive the long way around to the west to avoid it.

Great campsite! Built with support from NASCO, along with the Puros and Van Zyls campsites. The chalets really are awesome. We didn't stay at one but asked the price: N$500 per adult per night. By the way, if you see the stone man sculptures along tracks in Kaokoland, this is where they originated. The artist who created them, Trevor Nott, also designed the chalets here and placed 4 stone man - and a stone scorpion - sculptures here.
