Something not right?

Description

Established tent campground along the road just above a beautiful mountain lake. There is room for one sprinter/small truck to park level. No services but a nice grassy area for tent camping. It's right off the "main" (dirt) road but in the 14hrs we were there less than 10 cars passed.

Very beautiful meadow on the banks of the Río Cañete. You are clearly visible from the road but it is quiet. When it's sunny (from 8am) it's superb! With drone view, the colors of the river are exceptional! Note that I think this place has become private property, there is a barrier (which was open when we visited) and a sign indicating a kayak/paddle board site. However, no one told us anything. For info we parked at the lowest point near the river, I do not recommend without 4x4 because the climb is tough, we had to gain speed and engage the differential block of our Defender. Good Claro 4G signal.

Quiet, Free and amazing view
4x4 needed to access to the second and third floor

at this time of the year still a good place to stay overnight. no one here. less rubish than last year. lots of birds. few cars at day time, hardly any at night.

We got here on the Thursday of Easter weekend. Mistake! Came from the Pachacayo. Major traffic jam near Huancaya town due to one lane road lined with parked cars; we ended up with some damage to our rig trying to get past a parked bus. We are 2.1m wide. Tent campers everywhere but luckily no one here and we settled in nicely. No cell reception. Beautiful drive especially this end. NOTE: P3N to P3S from Huanuco to Pachacayo is a great road. We then took PE 24 west next. Single lane windy to Zuñiga! Lots of backing up. to let cars by. Slow!

really nice place to stay overnight. after leaving rp 24 ( coming from the coast) the street is not asphalted but in good conditions. way to the overnight place was doable for a sprinter (2x4). quiet. some rubbish. no internet reception (movistar).

Great spot overlooking the River, Lagoon and amazing Andes. One of the best views we have had in Peru.

Beautiful peaceful spot. It's sign-posted as a designated camp-site but the only facilities are toilets around 200m away down the road. There is definitely enough space for 1 big-rig or a couple of smaller rigs. 4x4 high clearance vehicles could also drop down to another flat area closer to the river. The only minor disturbance was grazing cows rubbing against the truck and scratching themselves on our sand-ladders during the night!!! Switching on the outside light or shingle a torch out of the window at them eventually persuaded them to wander off.
