I hope to alleviate confusion about this campground. None of the sites are free. The rate is $28, half price with the senior pass, plus $2 for a dog. Loops C & D are close enough to the small lake to stroll down to the little beach for a swim. The area is forested and very pleasant. A paved road leads in a mile or two . Far enough from the highway that there is no noise.
Report Check-Inspent the night here. quiet and dark. great place to view the stars. tent camping was open early may rv sites were still closed. several other people were tent camping as well. plenty of spots open for car camping and smaller rvs and vans. no att cell service.
Report Check-InSmall fee for camping in the camp grounds. Boondocking is legal on State lands but we kicked out the $$ for a nice spot with a fire ring near the lake.
Camp host was pretty good too.
