Actually, here there are only 6 sites and out of these just one of them is first come, first served. I think it’s the nicest site, too. #6. It’s on the outer edge so (slightly) more private plus has its own access to the river.
Oh, and be prepared for an additional $10 vehicle fee at the gate, cash or check.
Report Check-InOne of three National Forest Campgrounds in Maroon Bells Recreation Area ($15). We did not see much because we arrived in the dark and left in the dark for sunrise at Maroon Lake.
