Description

Rudimentary camping with your own long drop toilet and bucket shower. Bring your own water. No electricity. Booked through Xomae Group in Maun. Braai stand and fire pit. 50USD pppn. Each pitch is large enough for several vehicles. Each of 3 sites are over a mile as the crow flies from the Baines Baobab trees group but pitches 1 and 2 have their own Baobabs away from the tourists. Pitch is on the edge of the pan and you have to drive around the edge to get to it. Quiet and with nobody about. No other facilities, no cell service and no wifi. Long and sometimes deep sand drive to get here. Pan salt crust can be soft in places

I love this basic camp site. Best in my opinion is no 1. Just you and nature. We took the 12km drive to here through the pans but on return took the wet season road which was so much better. The stars at night are amazing. Pit toilet and shower cubicle thats it. Bring firewood. On a windy day lots of scorpians be aware. Bring water and all you need. Magical

Report Check-In

Beautiful campsite on the edge of the pan but the pit toilet has not been maintained so recommend bringing your own portable toilet.
We had a problem with very persistent mice in the evening - they were climbing all over our rooftop tent!

Nice campsite next to the pan, more the feeling off a wildcamp, clean logdrop and bucket shower! We enjoyed it a lot! We drove in from the north coming from Nxai South Camp and had to deal with very deep sand!

Report Check-In

Basic site with clean and well-maintained long drop toilet and bucket shower. They provide toilet paper, but no water. Unique location but we did not see many animals near here. We had no problem with mice on our visit, but there was a bee nest in Site 3.

Overpriced for foreigners, but that's probably as you expect for camping inside the Park!
US$50pppn + park fees (BWP120 pppn + BWP50 per vehicle).

We did not book, just turned up. Park fees must be paid at the Parks office, cash only, but we paid the camping fee at the Xomae office near South Camp using credit card.

We stayed at site 3. First impression is great, by yourself at the salt pans. Unfortunately after one minute we got a 1000 mice to visit us. One even got in our car. They are literally everywhere and they are not afraid of overlanders. Great location but would never ever recommend this spot to anyone.
