There are 4x4 tracks, which are easy to follow, from the Twyfelfontein air strip to the Huab River. Once on the river, you can wildcamp anywhere. Gorgeous, peaceful location. Many elephant and lion tracks on the riverbed. This is wild Africa!

Nice spot under trees so some shade. Two elephants passed by within 15 m from us. It can get a bit windy and dusty in the late afternoon. You will have to cross the riverbed so be aware if possible rain. During dry conditions no problem. Fire pit and dry wood available.
Report Check-InVery nice experience to camp one night in this beautiful area. There is enough fire wood to make a fire. We saw lots of elephants when we were driving in the riverbed. And the next morning we saw lion footprints around our campspot! The drive in the riverbed is easy, no problems. If you drive into desolation valley it gets a bit more challenging but still doable with high clearance and 4x4 is handy. We also saw jackal, ostrich, springbok and oryx.
It's was definitely a highlight on our trip around Afrika!
