Basic primitive campsites in a special area of the park for free camping.
Very beautiful and close to the lake for swimming.
More well-equipped, paid campsites further down the road. 1st turn off is day use, next is basic camping, on down the road is the paid campground with an RV area and a tent camping area.
We don't have any photos of this place yet.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Sign "Area is closed 10pm to 7am except for fishing" at the entrance. Didn't stay. There is a proper campgrounds in the state park a bit further.
Report Check-InWe stayed here but didn't arrive until after dark. The placemarker on the map is in a day-use only area so we kept driving until eventually reaching a paid campground (NOTE: i've since moved the placemarker to where i think the free camping is). There were a lot of large RVs in the paid campground, going past that is the tent camping zone.
I think the free camping is probably the second left turn. The first left turn being the day use area. There was no signage there that i saw and we did not explore it, but when leaving the next morning, i could see RVs down there so i suspect that's where the free camping is.
We did not see anything to suggest that there was any sort of a dangerous crowd around there. There are pelicans on the lake!
Report Check-InWe stopped here and chose not to camp. We have a rule when we stop at established campgrounds. If we see a Dodge Neon or Chevrolet Cavalier camping, we don't do it. This place had both. The nearby town of Junction City was a run-down ghetto, and it appeared the locals were all camping here. We continued our trek home.
Report Check-Invery nice place you can stay max. 14 nights
cops frendly
juste no rv on the grass 😉
