VW specialist Rafa | Mechanic and Parts

Unfortunately we had a very bad experience with rafa. Our car broke down in the middle of Baranquilla and we had to more or less push it to his workshop. Lots of people that helped us, said it sounds like dirty gasoline. We told him that but he insisted it was an electrical problem. Well he's the guy with 40+ years experience... after one day of useless trial and errors and replacements of perfectly fine parts. He finally had a look at the fuel, there was water in there los of it. He said he would clean erverything, did so and we gave him a new fuel filter we carried with us. Car worked, drove on and after an hour same problem. We had to go to another mechanic, where they properly dissabled the fuel tank and cleaned everything! In the end we lost 2 days, filter, full fuel tank, paid for useless repuestos, and definitely overpaid him as well... so yeah,

tl;dr avoid him and go directly to the other VW mechanic on I Overlander. Friends had a really good experience with them. In the end we should have known, if you just have a look at his shop. Lesson learned.
