Description

Spectacular location overlooking the Chicamocha canyon. It's on the Mesa de Los Santos - on the other side of the canyon from the park. COP 20'000 pp, too expensive given that the camping area is a heavily sloped dirt patch and there's no Wifi. The camping area gets none of the views but some noise from the mining trucks.
The road dead ends at Los Santos. They are geared toward rock climbing and are right next to routes in the canyon. There is space for bad car camping and tent camping. Dorms and private rooms. Prices on their site. Restaurant in high season. Communal kitchen and beautiful, comfortable communal area. There's even a meditation & yoga room with views of the canyon. Run by a Colombian couple, Richi and Alejandra.

this place really is a refuge. it has everything you need to stay for a while (we stayed 10 days & wish we could have stayed longer!).
-for sleeping there is place to park your car with super flat ground (20,000 includes price of climbing area). they have camping spots (also 20000) that have not so flat ground, but spectacular views. lastly they have cabanas (~90000 to 300000COP) & dorm (30000COP) that are a bit more expensive.
Shared kitchen is poorly equipped, no fridge, burners are temperamental and you can rent a box with ustensiles.
The restaurant offers reasonable breakfasts for around 10000COP, makes bread every morning (you MUST try their chocolate bread), serves beer, lunch and dinner.

There is a small tienda nearby and a house that sells fruits and veggies.

The staff are polite but not the most welcoming. Ritchie the owner is super chill and also a very good climber.

There is also a very sweet little yoga room with breathtakingviews over the valley (getting up there in early morning is best!)

As for the climbing, it's incredible. There are 21 sectors with hundreds of different routes - from 5.8 to 5.14b. The rock, the routes, the views are all beautiful!

If you are here to climb, you have to stay at one of the hostals in the area (there are 6 currently). They are part of a Coop that supports the maintanance and development of the climbing area, keeping it pretty much pristine! The cheaper parking lot at the entrance to the climbing area is not part of this Coop, and you will have issues entering the canyon as the owners of that spot are feuding with the owner of the land. We originally camped there since we didn't need the amenities of the hostals and had to jump through some weird and award hoops to climb and ultimately moved to rock refuge. We are glad we did! Community was great, there is a bouldering area, views are spectacular, food is awesome and there is WiFi now!

Spectacular views. LOVED the yoga/meditation room. Good place only if you want to climb. Like others said, not super great for car camping. It’s a parking lot, kind of away from the facilities you will use. Staff isn’t that friendly, except the bar tender and chef. 20,000COPp/p/n... waaaay too expensive for what they offer for car camping. Again, would only recommend if you are a climber.

Don't bother coming here. Like others said 20,000pp on unlevel ground. We came looking to climb, but it is a 'club' and you can only enter is you stay at one of 4 hostels (which all over charge). It is a rip off, there are plenty of other good places to climb in Colombia which aren't so exclusive.

It's COP 20'000 pp now, too expensive given that the camping area is a heavily sloped dirt patch and there's no Wifi. The camping area gets none of the views but some noise from the mining trucks. We were a bit unlucky in that there were already two vehicles parked there and we had to sort of dig to make a still not-quite-level space. The two almost level parking spots up by the reception were somehow not an option offered by the receptionist. Also the place is not as secluded as we wrongly assumed.
The hostel is very cool, though, but if you don't intend to climb then the Mesa and this place may not be for you.

Absolutely beautiful place! Easily our favorite place we stayed in Colombia. If you're a climber, this place has amazing climbing. Delicious food and beautiful rooms built into the hills with sweeping views of the valley. Not a ton of level places to park a rig, but you can pitch a tent.

Awesome hostel, very relaxing and tranquil place. was full of climbers when we were there. It fills up even in off season so try to make a reservation. No wifi but a nice break in nature. Can't beat the views from the yoga room or the private sleeping cabins built into the rocky cliff. Would definitely recommend paying for a private cabin. The limon postre dessert was one of the best things I've eaten, good veggie burger too. 1 hour hike to the town of Los Santos through the country side if you're not into rock climbing. Other hikes available too, including to a waterfall if it has been rainy.

15,000 COP pppn. Parking spot needed some levelling. The climbing is good and the yoga room with great views is ideal for stretching afterwards. Communal kitchen was in a bad state.

Nice hostel, very friendly people. we camped with our tent, without reservation and was no problem, we were the only ones camping - cop 15000 pp. dorms and cabines were full, so make reservation in case of. great views, Nice areas to sit and relax.

Unbelievable location on the Mesa de Los Santos. Great views are un understatement. This is a hostel run by climbers and they are very good hosts and make delicious food, especially fresh bread. come try rock climbing for the first time. the guide will take you on beginner routes. climbing with guide is 80.000 pp including all gear. they also have all the gear to rent for a reasonable price.
Highly recommended place for everybody and not just rock climbers.

Probably the most beautiful place I've stayed in 9 months traveling through South America. Camping or place for then cars is ok but the cabins are incredible and not that expensive. Camping is 15.000 per person. It's the rock climbing hot spot of Colombia and you'll meet of lot of climbers there. But even if you are not a Climber it's worth a visit to relax or do some yoga. Make a reservation in advance.

The hostel couldn't be more perfect, but this place is made by the rock climbing. We spent 2 weeks here and loved every minute of it.
