bad road | Warning

Well it IS a bad road. They’re working on it but lots of potholes in it still!

Work in progress..... I would say the last 10 km towards Nicaragua are not paved yet but it seems they fixed the worst parts, it’s not too bad. We had a few busy construction areas on a Sunday but still possible to move pretty fast.

The road is not THAT BAD. There are some road works and some potholes, but it is all paved and you can drive easily at 60 kph. Just pay attention. I hateeee bad roads and avoid them when possible. But this is not one of them.

There looks to be a lot of work being done on this road. It was a lot better than I expected. Only the last 20km are rough but they aren’t that bad.

UPDATE: We crosses the border from Nica to Hon on feb 8th 2018 and the conditions are still very bad. Take it easy, it is not that terrible. The road is bad from the border up to Choluteca.

Confirm, even in motorcycle it’s was hell. Lot of construction and heavy traffic.

can confirm, no positive changes yet, still an awful road. Don't know how the alternative route looks like though.

HUGE deep waterfilled potholes. lots of them. some even stretch over the whole lane. intersive zigzagging required, otherwise you'll trash your car..
