Road from Cauri to Oyón | Tourist Attraction

We drove from La Union to Oyon with motorbikes! the road is unpaved but -we were surprised- in very good condition, few traffic, stunning landscape - we had fun to drive this route!

Very nice road indeed. They partly restore the road. Together with rain it makes it very slippery and dangerous. So better take this road when its not raining. Also for the better views!

Beautiful drive but the best of the alpine scenery at the top around 4700m is ruined by the mining - meaning there are many mining buildings, trucks and poles

Beautiful road that rival the national parks, with all its turquoise lakes and glaciers. It's just a shame that all the mining operations kind of ruin the beauty a bit.

One of the nicest road I have done in South America ! Thanks for the tip ;)

It took me 2 days to do Jauja - Cerro del Pasco - Oyon (gasolina !!) - Cauri - Huaraz.

Off road starts at Cerro del Pasco, couldn’t go up to 40km/h (motobike) at the beginning. After Oyon it stars to get better.
Not many places to camp between Oyon and Antacolpa.

We drove this road from Cauri to Oyón through majestic mountain landscape with a lot of glaciers and lagunas. The only drop of bitterness is the mine at the top. The gravel road is well maintained, only sometimes a bit rough. We think the road is passable for every kind of vehicle.
