In January it's like a lot of places in Chile. It looks like a refugee camp full of the massive tent compounds that seem to be the norm here. The further out from the centre you come the less people there are. Sand is very fine and loose so be careful not to dig in. Also be careful of broken bottles under the surface since Northern chilenos clearly have no respect for anything and are categorically the worst litterers I have experienced since central America in 11 years. Shame on you.
Report Check-InNice and safe, we were there on a Saturday night, lots of people camping on the beach, but also cars playing loud music all night long
Report Check-InNice place to sleep after or before crossing border. Unfortunately, a car parked right in front of us at 3am playing music and shining their bright lights at us, even though there are miles of empty beach here. Still safe with sound of the waves.
Report Check-InGreat spot to sleep! We stayed there for 6 nights and it was very quiet at night. We felt safe, made a fire, chilled during the day.
Report Check-InNice, quiet, safe, probably because of proximity to police academy. Huge beach where locals come to camp and hang out, (unfortunately leaving occasional bags of trash on beach, but there are bins). There are firm sand paths for driving and parking (we're in 2wd class B and were fine).
Report Check-InHello
Nice spot for sleep
Just in front of the police school.
Quiet night.
Just some fishermen in the evening and bodyboardmen in the morning.
There is a little road with hard sand, ok with a motorhome.
The sound of the sea....and the birds....
