Latest Check-Ins

BLM land with designated campsites that include metal fire rings. No facilities at this site. No water. Strictly dispersed camping. Rough road so not recommended for trailers. Tent or van type vehicle will maneuver the area.

Report Check-In

Established campsites. Free 14 days. Quiet spot but other campers in sites nearby

Report Check-In

Decent free site between Salina and Buena Vista. Designated sights created since the last visit a year ago.

Do not use Google maps to direct you to this spot - it sent me up a rough, narrow road with no turn around that I had to back down ... yes, there was a sign saying private drive but I assumed incorrectly that Google knew where it was taking me and that my turn was prior to the gate. Beautiful cliff side spots to park with multiple fire rings. Definitely a dry season spot for any fwd or 2wd vehicles though - the ruts back to this spot are deep. 1-2 bars Verizon LTE

Beautiful spot. The road in was rutted but easy to get through in my FWD Promaster. It might be difficult if there was fresh snow or ice though. Verizon service was very very spotty for me

Report Check-In

Great free BLM camping area, very rustic though.

great campspot, drive up the hill or stay down low and go to the back and find the best spot. 2wd 4G LTE

The sign when entering says this is BLM area and states you may stay up to 14 days. There is a second entrance just a few yards past the first. It doesn’t have the deep holes like the first one. It’s a pretty area with fire ring dispersed camping. Looks like it could be muddy if wet.

Report Check-In

Excellent boondocking. Mild road noise during the day. Good Verizon and ATT service; have a cell booster but don't need it, even inside our travel trailer. Free water in Pagosa Springs at Visitor Center, great everything else (food, drinks, outdoor activities) in Salida and nearby. Space for 6+ 30-ft trailers. Easy road, but evidence of muddy ruts when soaked.

Beautiful Quiet lots of big Rvs , small cars sites right off the road at the Day area is where is forks left is sites by the River Straight ahead takes you higher into the mountains 14 day for free no amenities or trash Must be self contained And please if you burn your trash no glass or cans they don't burn But your CIGARETTES BUTTS do so throw those in the fire respect Colorado and don't be a litter bug Leave it better than you found it

Report Check-In

BLM land close to salida - two bars of Verizon LTE. Pretty relaxed and easy to get in; people seem to use this place during the day to dump their RVs and fifth wheels to go into town but I’ve had no issues coming back after 4 and finding a space yet.

Report Check-In

East entrance off 124 - don’t try to enter off 123. Relaxed little area with 1/2 bars of Verizon LTR

Report Check-In

Found a nice flat spot a bit before the GPS location. Nice spot with many (4) other campers around but separated enough. Not as much wind there as described in the other comments but I did not go near the spot to assess.

Report Check-In

Tried to stay there, arrived by 7pm but it was completely full - three nights in a row. Apparently it can get busy during summer. There are however a few more pullouts further up the road, so I was alwaya able to find something.

Report Check-In

Nice quiet spot. One or two bars of Verizon LTE. A couple of great horned owls nesting in the cliffs!

Report Check-In

This place was awesome just too windy for us to stay. It’s cold.

Report Check-In

Cool place and quiet. Lots of space. We passed a few RVs but almost looked vacant and just parked for storage. There were man made fire pits. No toilets. Had full service LTE with ATT. Nice spot for a night near Salida.

Report Check-In

Great spot like original poster said. Stayed a night with other quiet campers and some beautiful 14er views!
