Loved anteater road. We left at 07.00 from “Bush camp” going south. Saw 4 anteaters 20km south from “Bush camp”, could observe them for very long, and 2 closely. If you never seen them, they are probably larger than you expect. Look in the grassfields for something dark brown, long and furry. We also saw 6 deers, many rhea, capybaras, wild pigs, flying macaws and tucan.
Almost everything is cow farm land.

We drove this road in 2 days in October. We were not as lucky as others. We saw 1 anteater at dusk close by, but it was pretty dark and disappeared quickly, and another during the day quite far away in a field.
Lots of capibaras, some caimans, macaws, armadillos and a tucan. Highlight was a big tortoise crossing the road, but also long stretches with no animals. We didn't expect so much farmland, but it seems the wildlife just moves across it.
We had hoped for more, nevertheless a nice road to drive. There was some rain before we left, but the road was still in good condition. This could be different with heavy rain, so check the forecast and ask locals.

We drove the 419/427 from Aquidauana to Rio Verde and needed 3 days. We saw 5 anteaters (one of them with a baby) in the part from this iOverlander point until you drive up the mountain and around 5-5:30 pm and 8-9 am.
But we saw as well: caimans, capybaras, parrots, deers, one tapir, coatis, jabiru, toucans, armadillo, rheas, foxes, different birds, wild pigs.
We saw all the animals until 10 am or from 4 pm.
We always made a long break between 11am and 3 pm at the two spots with shade (river spot and next to bridge, well hidden).
We enjoyed this drive more than Estrada Parque.
The dirt road was in good condition at this moment, only the last ~ 20 km before Rio Verde were really bad washboard.
