Something not right?

Description

The road along the cliff in Chicama is being worked on at the moment and non passable of vehicles. Just continue down South and just after the last hostel you can drive up the hill, park right on the cliff with a gorgeous view. No facilities here, but five steps away is the Sueno beach hostel that still offers showers for five soles.
The spot works for all kind of vehicles, no 4x4 required and no size restrictions. Animals are no problem either.

The road along the cliff is now passable and quite nice!

Still a good spot on cliff with dump trucks passing all day. Great views of surfers and foil boarders. Windy.

Spent one night trying to get a little further away from the frequent firework booms. It's more mellow here then the beach, but you're not on the beach. Is pretty windy too, but does calm down overnight. If you have a dog, or you, are sensitive to fireworks, this is likely not the best town. You access the beach via the malecon, or some paths in the cliffs.

The malecón is complete and it is lovely. But no driving on it. This parking is on the windy cliff overlooking the ocean and just a few steps from the end of the malecón. It is very windy, coming across the desert. But that keeps away the heat and the bugs. We were here two nights, alone. No issues. Police checked us once. Go eat a brownie while you’re here, seriously. Beach parking is also nice, warmer and no wind. There is a great play area there. And could probably park on any of the now dead-end streets. Town is pretty tranquilo at this end.

stayed one night. this place is a dream for surfers. the longest wave in the world. the melacon is complete and is very nice. muy tranquillo. there are bathrooms on the melacon however they were locked (weekday) might be unlocked on weekends, not sure. yes its windy but no so much to keep us away.

just drove through the town on main highway, big market on Thursday. stock up before heading all the way to the coast, not much in the town that we saw and our breakfast burrito this morning was $4.50.. so little spendy. happy trails.

Fantastic camping! Right on the cliff above the surf break and there’s even a walkway down to the beach from there (it’s just in the sand but doable with a board. We met three other overlanding groups there and had a great time camping together. On the weekends locals come and park behind you or next to you to go surfing or just check the area out. You can ask the nice hostel next door for use of their outdoor shower and bathroom for 5 soles if you need it. In town - go to Restaurante Ivonne - best local food in town! Highly recommend and it was super safe.

Seems to be the best spot in town for overlanders to set up. We spent a few nights here with two other vehicles.
