Several roads leading to boondocking spots near or overlooking the lake. There are "roads" that appear to be unapproved, and evidence of recent rainfall and deep tracks on some side roads. It looks like if you stick to the roads that are rocked, more vehicles can safely get in and out, I was in a 38 foot super C. One other warning, Road 160 between Ft. Laramie and here was passable dirt/rock road, but there was about 2 miles that if I tried to go over 15 mph was rough enough to loosen fillings. ATT service was very weak to nonexistent, couldn't even always get a text to send.

Private lake that allows camping. This spot was posted by someone else, but the coordinates were wrong on their post, so I’m reposting, hopefully with the correct coordinates. Here on a Monday night had the place to ourselves

42°8′6″ N 104°44′53″ W use your GPS to take you to the actual location for Grey rocks reservoir the GPS on this app took me to a random road where there was not even a place to park on the side lol. We tried to update it but I don’t think it took make sure you actually type in gray rocks Reservoir for your GPS. Excellent place! The toilet smells pretty bad but it’s beautiful here and peaceful

Dispersed camping with trash and outhouses. Beautiful views. Some spots more level than others

Report Check-In

After considering every other possibility between the Colorado border and Casper we selected this one and got exactly what we were looking for: peace and quiet. Close enough for convenience yet far enough off the freeway where noise is not a factor. Very peaceful night and dark, starry sky. Windy upon arriving and it shut down at sundown. Thankfully, AC/DC Joel and his fireworks were not here. Huge area and lots of dispersed camping opportunities. 2 bars AT&T

mild temperatures but it got windy later in the night 30mph with gusts to 50+. Trash bins and pit toilets available still free

Amazing spots right on the reservoir! I was there during the week and my closest camping neighbors were like 1/4 mile away. Beautiful place to swim and walk the beach. I had 2 bars of AT&T service where I camped but it was spotty.

This place is great. Free camping. Tons of spots. The waters clean enough to swim in I swam so much I turned into a raisin. Met a girl and we shared my tent. I did get a fireworks ticket because they had a fire ban. But I had so much fun I don't even care. Nice sandy beaches with shady trees. Two lane highway to get there where you can floor it blasting ACDC. Got me feeling like Colorado's overrated.

This place is awesome! There are several miles of dispersed camping all along the lakeshore. Easy to find a spot and be far away from other campers. Allowed to stay for up to seven days. Dumpsters and toilets available. Can get pretty windy, but we saw lots of people using tents. No cell service on ATT. Free!

Twelve mile paved road to campground. Entered through gate 1 with at least five other gates available for easy entry. Got a site overlooking the water

Great spot!! There are lots of dumpsters to dump trash. We didn’t use the bathrooms, but they’re there. We got a spot right on the water, there are plenty. Water is beautiful and there are docks to fish or swim off of. Would definitely come back for a few nights. FREE
