Gate was closed. 😕 too bad since the reviews are so good!

Extremely worth it!! You have beautiful views of the mountains, Lake McDonalds and Lake Five. This is an AT&T satellite site so service is good. Have been doing remote work. The gravel road is in good shape and we made it in our 158” Sprinter. It will take longer than expected to travel the gravel road though. Approx 20-30 minutes on gravel.

Tried to make it to this spot. Road has been closed to motorized travel

Report Check-In

Stayed a few nights here and it was nice. The road in was nice and easy in our transit. Some rock and ruts to avoid but great compared to most Forrest roads we encounter. The roads are pretty tight so I don’t think bigger rigs would make the turns. The views up here are great.

(The picture posted by another user showing the route up was not open when we came. The route from the road was open but half way up there was a locked gate. We had to turn off at that point and that road led us to the top.)

It was a bit crazy getting up here in our Sprinter for my fragile sensibilities, but the view is worth it. So quiet and peaceful with full ATT from the tower. How amazing is that?

Incredible view indeed! It was cold though. So friggin cold in fact that we got snowed in in mid-June! Probably a better choice in late summer. It took us some time to find the right road to the top of the mountain because Google Maps was trying to make us take a road that looked like it had been closed years ago. (I included a picture of the correct route, hope that helps)

AMAZING view at this overlook. We didn't camp here but wish we had found it last night!
