Description

Nice rest area by the lake. It's on two levels, first is by hwy, second is bellow with pick nick tables, views of mountains and small lake. Steep but short trail leads to lake. Noise level wasn't bad at night as you are shielded by little hill and there wasn't much traffic anyway.
BTW, we had a 200# Black bear come out of the bushes about 10 feet from where we were making dinner so be prepared...

Latest Check-Ins

Traffic is loud and even for lower spot you are 5 m from the road. Nice view tho

Report Check-In

Everything still the same. Not much traffic, but once in a while a truck stops to use the restroom in the middle of the night. Not bad. Pretty lake view…

Report Check-In

Still accessible, best spot is indeed at the lower level with even a deck to swim and/or wash in the lake.

Report Check-In

Not many places to pitch a tent if travelling by bicycle or motorbike. If you’re feeling brave you can pitch a freestanding tent right on the floating jetty for nice sleeping bag views!

Report Check-In

Described well by others. The lowest level is the place to be but only can accommodate one small Class C or a B. Two tents would prolly fit. Floating dock is a great plus. I was prepared for the hordes of mosquitoes that others had talked about but on this overcast day with temperature at 55°F there was just a stray one or two. If you’re in a class B or small class C the best approach would be to back down to the spot by the lake. Otherwise, as others have said there’s the first level off of the rest area with picnic tables that are easily accessible from both ends.

Mosquitos crazy killers! impossible to live outside, like hundreds, and they don't care about repelent, aaaaahhhh! help me!

Report Check-In

We slept on the lower level. Super nice view and fishing possible but millions of mosquitos.
Couldn't sleep good as it was very loud. Trucks stopped there in the night and let the engine running direct next to us for hours.

Report Check-In

We stayed for one night at the single spot at the lake. Perfect spot, not to close to the highway (as the first level) and you are not blocking any other people (as we may have done at the second level). Toilets are clean. Please use the garbage bin; we found over 30 beer can’s.

Report Check-In

Backed our class C down the farthest spot. Not level from front to back but right by a dock with a killer view!

Report Check-In

Quite nice. you feel like you are blocking the road but one can enter by both ends so not a worry. The view of the lake is very nice.

Report Check-In

We found the single space by the lake (with the floating dock) on the South East corner of the parking lot. We backed in with our truck camper and has to block the tires to get close to level but it was worth it. There are small rainbow trout in the lake and we heard my favorite bird, the Loon on the far side.
Nice place in an area that doesn’t have many options. We did get visited by a black bear when we were preparing dinner so be careful.

Report Check-In

Mostly as described. From the lower spots you can still hear the road loudly, but there is very little traffic at night. Nice picnic tables and garbage on lower level as well

Report Check-In

nice spot lots of traffic on the pull off all night.

Report Check-In

Mehan lake rest area. Nice spot along the lake. There is a little road going to a dock, nice for fishing. Room for a tent there.

Report Check-In

The spots along the highway are level, the spots at the lake aren't but have a nicer view and are somewhat quieter.

Report Check-In

Very good place to sleep. As described has basic facilities like picnic tables and a pit toillet.
Great view of lake and montains.
We camped with our rooftent in the lower level. Calm and quiet at night.

Report Check-In

Not a bad spot not far off the highway. There’s a dirt laneway that runs behind the pull off lower than the road so noise isn’t too bad. Nice view of the little lake with lots of wildflowers. Fire ring, picnic tables, garbage cans and pit toilets. Not bad for one night

Report Check-In

As described, right by the road, good for a nights sleep.

Report Check-In

Nice place to stay one night, just beside the lake. Closed to the road but not noisy during the night. We saw 2 beavers on the lake ! :) Pit toilets, picnic tables, garbage.

Report Check-In

Yes, it is a very nice spot. I just want to add a photo.

Report Check-In

One lane of parking at below highway level. 3 picnic tables and 1 fire pit. Beautiful view. Highway noise at below level wasn’t a problem.
The ramp does not have a turn around. So beware if you are a larger rig, you must back in or back out all the way down/ up.

Report Check-In

There is another little road to the lake with one spot. Not possible for big rigs. You don’t hear the noise from the street.

Report Check-In

Cool place, safe, some truck stay here with engine on (noisy).
Beautiful view.

El lugar está muy bueno, hermosa vista. Puede haber camiones con el motor encendido durante toda la noche (muy ruidoso).
Hay otros RV descansando.
