Camping in the court yard of this former German fort. -
Update- We talked to a guide from an Overland truck. They used to stay there as well. He said the boma guesthouse is closed for good.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
I can verify .... closed for good! no sign out front and no one around. Just saw a guard with a bunch of prisoners walk out.
Report Check-Infriendly guy at gate said they are making repairs and there is no space for camping...sounded like there will be again when repairs complete
Report Check-InUnfortunately all gates were closed and no one was around when we arrived today. So make a good Plan, we drove further on.
Report Check-InNice place to stay for 1 night. The place is quiet and safe. With basic toilet and cold shower. We paid Tzs 10.000 for the two of us.
Report Check-InGood place for a stop over. We paid 10.000 tzs for the two of us. (So per tent/car) The night was quiet, next morning there were locals to get stuff out the building there using for storage.
Report Check-InThis place is ok for a Stopover on the way to Rwanda. Campsite is more of a parking lot but quiet. Very friendly staff. Basic ablutions. Unfortunately there was no water for the shower.
Report Check-InQuiet place for a stop over. Basic facilities but fair for the price.
