Passamos duas noites nesse estacionamento, que fica no final da avenida. O lugar é muito tranquilo e nos sentimos seguros. Não há nenhuma facilidade por perto. O espaço de estacionamento é enorme e cabem todos os tipos de veículos.

We spent two nights in this parking lot, which is at the end of the avenue. The place is very quiet and we felt safe. There are no facilities close by. The parking space is huge and all types of vehicles can fit.

Report Check-In

We slept two nights here. There are some “No Camping” signs, but they appear to be directed to the sand due to the spawning of the turtles. Parking is on the street, but in front of the beach. A little noisy during the day, but quiet at night. We felt safe :)

Dormimos duas noites aqui.

A solid free spot in front of the beach. I've seen 3 other overlanders park here, so generally pretty common. You can walk to cafe Madame and use their bathrooms, also 25 cent bathrooms down the malecón. To the right the beach is all sea turtle nest preserve, so it's very chill. You can take a tuktuk to the grocery store, which is the only one in the area.

Report Check-In

100m north of the Malecón. Wide road with space for parking along the Coast. Very close to the beach, just in front! Quiet and safe. We decided to park in front of the Hostería Oceanic but not directly in front! (avoid a problem) because the biggest sign is casually in front of the Hostería! (say no parking, but meaning on the beach because of the turtle nests) We stayed one night. (see pics) Good 4g claro

One night there, safe, secure, beautiful, nice for a morning jogging or hike, empty and quiet at night.

Report Check-In

Still in 2020 a tranquil spot to park! Beach was not busy at all. Surely depends on the day of the week and season. Very tranquil during night. Excellent 4G mobile reception.

Report Check-In

Nice and quit place to spend the night.
As previously mentioned you're not allowed to park on the beach due to turtle eggs hatching. There are signs every 20 meters, so just stay on the road, there's plenty of space to park on the road/parking behind the palmtrees, with a beautiful view too. Suitable for big rigs and felt safe. You can ask for water in the hostels nearby.

Best spot on the beach in Ecuador (so far, at least). we were going to stay 1 or 2 nighta and ended up staying a week. super quiet, beautiful view, palm trees, firewood, town at a walking distance, beach bars, diving (the biggest mantarayas) and whale watching tours, fish market (right after the beach bars) and safe. police passed by many times during day and night.
wifi oceanic descanso. wifi cafemadame15
keep it clean!

Report Check-In

We came for one night, stayed almost a week. Nice place, at the beach and near enough to the town.
Don't forget to walk over the beach, left, to the fish market.
Wifi near the Oceanic hotel is possible.

Report Check-In

FYI we stayed one night but in the morning a patrol guy came by on a moto asking us to move up to the paved parking area because there are nearing turtles here all year round. He said they have tried putting up signs but they always get taken down. We moved up to the paved area super close (also here on ioverlander) and no issues

Report Check-In

We stayed next to the palm trees for 5 nights. Very tranquile, on the beach, beautifull, quit at night, only a bit noisy on saturdaynight. 10 min walking to town. We loved this place! Oh and if you want to see the whales, you can also book a cheaper tour (insted the $40,- tour to La Plata). We booked the 3 hours tour for $16,- p.p.

Parked our RV on the flat sandy area, in front of the Ocean Hotel. Stood for a week withoud any problem. Super spot directly along the quiet beach. Ten minutes walk to the boulevard. No facilities. Safe location.

Report Check-In

Police moved us off the spot on the beach under the trees because it's a place turtles go and they're trying to protect them. We stayed just behind next to the road, off the beach. [bit noisy at night, but safe and free].

Report Check-In

very nice place under the coconuts tree (difficult to find in Ecuatorian coast...)

Report Check-In

We parked right in between the palm trees :) very nice and beautiful view of the bay at night. Awesome sunsets! There is hostal Mandala near by but no luck getting a wifi password for future overlanders. No free internet in town

Report Check-In

this spot is nice, really quiet even on a saturday, near some palms. couldn't get wifi bear the pier or malecon.
