Dispersed area camping is still open. I'm unsure of the actual climbing area though. Got some wind at night, and snow in the morning. Enjoyed the scenery and peace away from the highway even though you can see it in the horizon. Campsite #5 was a great pull through.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
closed seasonally, dispersed camping will be open close to around memorial day, I called the ranger and asked. but they told me to check the websites for updates.
looked beautiful from the road coming in, and it's still open to hiking right now, limited parking though and still a lot of snow on the ground
campground closed. disbursed area still open. camped here last night. arrived in the dark . took first available spot on the right going into loops. #1. super windy. 40 mph wind with higher wind gusts. road a little icy in spots. not sure how long disbursed camping will be open. great area. have camped here before.
Report Check-InThis is the second time we’ve been here this summer. Previously in site A13. There are many great dispersed sites. Nice and quiet and felt safe. Beautiful landscape! The roads can be very washboard-y, and there are a few potholes, but nothing our high clearance van could not handle. If you are concerned about the roads, and don’t want to deal with ‘em, there is a paid campsite that is all paved for $10 a night, before the dispersed area.
Report Check-InGo to the last area, turn right a good amount of spots, big rigs accessible
Report Check-InSe stayed overnight in the lot because it was still closed. Friday morning the Rangers pulled up and started to open the place for the season. From now on there is the Fed of 5dollar Day use required. The Campground to the left has a fee of 10 dollars per vehicle a night.
Report Check-InGorgeous location. lots of free sites with fire pits, could fit any size rig as long as you take it slow on the road in. Super close to trails and climbing spots. Not too buggy and a nice breeze made this the perfect oasis on a hot day. I don't recommend using the pit toilets unless you are fond of swarming flies. We had a lovely night and morning here, wish we could have stayed longer.
Report Check-InDispersed camping in designated sites only. Single and group sites. Water and vault toilets available in day use areas. Easy access for all. Some mud puddles and washboarding roads.

Report Check-Init was open and only about halfway busy. had many dispersed campsites open. fire restriction right now.
Report Check-Ingate was open when I arrived yesterday and is still open now as I am leaving today. where I camped father up there was a lot of wind and little cover, so good to be prepared for both.
Report Check-InCLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, gate to the dispersed camping is locked shut & no open date was posted, many chose to camp outside the gate but we moved on
Report Check-InArrived super late but plenty of spots available. Snow on the ground on patches but easy to navigate in a Transit 250 high roof. Super quiet and flat. Beautiful sunrise - wish we could’ve stayed longer!
Report Check-InGreat spot(s). Pulled in here shortly after sunset on a Saturday night on October 4th expecting to not find any spots but there were several available. Road in is washboards pretty bad but not a real issue. You do not need 4WD or high clearance. My van is a Transit 250 extended.
Report Check-InAmazing location with awesome views. A few miles off I-80, just take road slow, quite bumpy. Marked camping areas and fire rings. Tons of hiking trails.
Report Check-InLovely and unique. Paved loops, relatively level asphalt pads. Can get very windy. Difficult to access water, but water was avail thru a hand pump-better off if you fill your fresh tanks ahead of time. 30' long rigs can fit, but you may have to trim branches if you're camper is over 12' tall. Awesome place-free to seniors and access pass holders.
Report Check-InWonderful area. Full in this date but we can spend the night in the location. Big places to camp but people take one place for themselves and don't want to share the big place. No amenities. Free. Dirt road very good.
Report Check-InLots of places to camp for FREE!! Must camp in marked camping spots only. All have rock burn rings already. No electric or water. Plenty of rocks to climb on and hick. Beautiful sunsets. Stayed two nights.
Report Check-InGreat spot, go 1-3 miles past the paid campsite and there are plenty of marked amazing sites nestled in the rocks. There is a pit toilet in the day use parking lot just past the campground. Road is washboarded but very drivable for all vehicles.
Report Check-InGreat spots!! Either at the campground (5$) or along the road “climbing road” pass the camping (many free dispersed spots).
Report Check-InAwesome place for dispersed camping. Weather was very pleasant for mid-July as well. We continued on to some of the furthest sites and found a lot of privacy. Some Verizon cell service in spots.
Report Check-InA mile or so past Vedauwoo Campsite (paid) is free dispersed camping along the dirt road. Road is heavily washboarded but relatively flat.
