This place is beautiful, is very cold, but is a pleasant climate. The view of the volcano is impressive
Report Check-InNow it is 6000 per person!! They made the restaurant new. It looks nice but the services are still the same (just a toilet). For us too much for what you become…
Report Check-InNice camping spot with amazing view and pic nic area
3000 col pp
Bathrooms not very clean
Very beautiful place to camp, next to the active Turrialba volcano. There is a little restaurant (open 7:00 am till 3:30 pm), bathrooms and an indoor area. This is nice, because it gets quiet cold in this area. No showers. We were here in the weekend and there were some other campers. Some locals arrived when it was already dark, this is not recommendable, because it was hard for them to find a place in the dark. 3000 colones per person, kids younger then 10 years old stay for free:
Report Check-InThis camping area under the Turrialba volcano is brilliant. 7000col per night for a 4x4 with tent on top - there are toilets but we didn’t see showers. It really is a stunning place to stay though. The road in is a bit hairy in places if you come from Poas direction but fine in a 4x4 - it definitely gets cold at night, like 4degrees Celsius and it can get pretty cloudy but when it’s clear, the stars are insane. Plus we fell asleep to the sounds of coyotes howling across the valley! There is a guy who lives in a house nearby if you need anything and who will take payment of the owner isn’t around. You can also go for guided hikes during the day. Would recommend!
Report Check-InBig open field with a beautiful view on the volcano. You have to check in at Danza con Nubes across the street. (only Spanish speaking).
The facilities are basic and old and we haven’t seen showers or running water at the campsite. (Maybe at the cafe across the street)
When we arrived a lot of locals where watching the sunset with loud music. But they left around 6pm, after that it was really quiet.
It was more of a wild camping experience but definitely worth it because of the view.
