Beautiful and peaceful spot up in the mountains with views of Illampu and Ancohuma. 4x4 not required (we came up in a Toyota Corolla taxi). Plenty of level sites to choose from. From here you can hike to Laguna Challata on your own (~45 min one way) but you *need* a guide if you want to go to Laguna Glaciar (~8 hours total). Trail is not clear. Note: We did not camp here because we wanted to go to Glaciar and had our guide with us but he said it's totally fine to camp there. It's tranquil and far away from the town.
We don't have any photos of this place yet.
