Description
In the shadow of Pikes Peak! This is dispersed camping, no services, only cleared parking and fire pits. If you want a campgrounds with more services the Rampart Reservoir Campgrounds is 1/4 mile down the road for $6.00 a night! I'm here because I waited too long and the reservoir was full. The road was pretty rough, so beware with anything super low, or you'll need to go really slow. This particular road had several spots to camp that looked mostly clean (very little trash) and spaced out nicely so you aren't so close to someone else. The views are beautiful and you have good cell service from T-Mobile. I would absolutely go back and spend more time there if I were in the area again.
Report Check-InMANY places along right side of road. It's worth driving to the last one before the official camp site because it's higher and the view is stunning. Stayed there one night, the next night we stayed on one of the lower camp spots because the wind was strong and on the higher spots it's more open. Fire places are there.
Report Check-InHuman feces and trash everywhere. Lots and lots of flies, I’m assuming due to the unburied feces and left behind trash. Great views, good LTE with Verizon, but the flies are making it almost unbearable. If you have a dog, maybe grab a shovel and bury the feces before letting your dog out
Report Check-Inloveeee this camping spot. not 100% secluded your deffs gonna see people/ATVers around here. but its a great get away surrounded by nice pine trees. no cell service bring a map
Report Check-InGreat tent spot for high clearance / 4WD vehicles. Magnificent views of piles peak. Impossible to reach with RV or trailer.
Report Check-InVery cool spot, more private spots towards the top, very busy on the weekends, everything g had cleared out by Monday afternoon. Lots of trash and glass left from local parties and over use :( great views of pukes peak! Will probably be back if we are in the Colorado Springs area again!
