Description

Scenic spot looking out over the strait. You can camp back in the trees or down by the shore. The only amenities are a trash bin and the only downside is the proximity to highway 9. Check out the western part of the park for more sheltered options.

Less wind protection than the other end of the park. No doors on the pit toilets. Fine for a quick night

Report Check-In

nice place for one night. no facilitys, but free.

Report Check-In

We had low expectations after reading the info about this place but we’re pleasantly surprised. A bit of noise in the evening from planes and a few other people who came and went, but we were the only ones there by the time we went to bed. Flat ground for campers, winds picked up a little overnight but we were fine on the shore. Nice sunset and we saw dolphins in the evening!

Report Check-In

Is slept here one night with my tent before taking ferry next day at 9am.
Good spot for cyclist.
Lots of trash, noise from the road (more calm during the night) but no one when I was there and you can find places with tress protected from the wind.

Huge huge space, kind of free park. Do the job

Report Check-In

Easy, free, and very reasonable place to spend the night. There are spots on both side of the highway. We stayed on the ocean side (east) and there were plenty of open spots when we rolled in at 9pm. We were able to fit our large RV through the gate. Got windy at night but otherwise very little road noise. Trash cans but no other services there. WiFi not working for us when we stayed; apparently it’s normally available after 9pm if it’s working.

Freier Campingplatz in der Nähe des Flughafen von Punta Arenas. Kein Service.

Nice option to stay in Punta Arenas. Recommend!

Report Check-In

pitty of the rubbish. but good spots, also for a rooftoptent. there should be more big green bins at the parc. nice to walk to the sea view. from there you can see wales splashing their water at the horizon.

Report Check-In

Good place to sleep, view over the Magellan detroit, lots of spaces to park
A group of Argentinians came to party and listened to music until 5am but they were far away and did not bother us so much
I think it is squatted in the week end :)

Report Check-In

Ok place for a night. Can be quite windy. A lot of garbage. More than I have seen anywhere else.

Report Check-In

Okay place for a night. Firepits are useful. Right next to a street. The usual trash around.

Report Check-In

we moved from here into town an back again two nights. its a big park and lots of space. bigger and higher RV's can stay in the park at the other site from the road where they removed the high barrier.

Report Check-In

The more southern entrance looks to be better camping - more trees and shelter.

Report Check-In

Nice place to spend a night. Got a bit windy in the morning. There are lots of sheltered picnic tables and fire pits.
Outhouse style bathroom.

Report Check-In

Good place for a quiet night by the water. Don't bother with the toilets... You wouldn't believe how scary they are. Bit if rubbish around.

Report Check-In

Fewer sheltered camping sites and closer to road than western part of the park. Views of Magellan Strait.

Report Check-In

Look at the coments bevor. Gates werde build so far it is not possible for Cars higher than 3.20 m. To reach the area near the beach with cars higher than 3.20 m use a hole in the fence 200 m along the road and drive back on gras. If it is wet you beter have a 4weeldrive!

Report Check-In

Good free camping option just outside Punta Arenas. East side has beautiful views of the channel, west side has more shelters to cook in. Gets really busy on weekends with locals picnicking but most of them are just there for the day leaving the sites nice and quiet in the morning

Report Check-In

Nice site, picknicktables and shelters. Police patrolled once at night. Lots of garbage.

Report Check-In

Camped here one night, lots of sites available. There are no places to camp with big rigs in Punta Arenas, except the waterfront which is next to the Main Street and busy.

Report Check-In

Free camping area near ocean with areas around trees with wind blocks for tent campers. We parked next to water with nice views down the bay. A bit unkempt and trash is blown about, but nice enough for a free camping area. Gross pit toilets, fire pits, trash cans and tables with benches. Wind can pick up a ton at night, we had to move at 11 pm to a more sheltered spot. Traffic noise in some spots is loud.

Report Check-In

Still a nice and pretty quiet place left and right side of the Hwy, They call it now a Paque Chabunco, nice firepits.

Report Check-In

Free Camping areas with fire pits and some corrugated iron shelters. By sea. Some trees for wind shelter. We parked right on sea front but below the area with trees.
