Description

You can officially camp in the National Park. You need to pay entry into the park, but it's worth it if you combine it with a hiking trip. Price for one day is around 400T per person plus 100T for the car. There are 9 different hiking routes, one of them goes up to a beautiful mountain lake. In the park are no facilities, but the river's water is very clean. Locals told us it's drinkable. We filles our tanks in the camper and had no issues!

great place to spend a few days, especially beautiful in autumn, when there's apples allover the place. spectacular views over the snowpeaked mountains. We did hiking routes 9 and three and they were both relaxed walks though beautiful valleys. We hardly met any people at all. also very clean in the park.
many different camping spots available, some a but too exposed but you also can camp along the dirt road that leads into the valley on the right side of the sealed road. there are more quiet and remote camping spots.

The lower lake wasn't that impressive yet, but that will probably change when the snow up there melts. The 12 km hike up there was challenging at times. The campfires by the river were great. (They sell firewood at the gate for 200 KZT per bundle.) Officially, it's 441 KZT per person per day and extra for vehicles. Although we stayed for 3 nights, the nice park ranger only charged us for 2 days and nothing for the car and motorbikes.
