Something not right?

Description

We stayed along the long strip next to the beach in La Serena. There's parking on the street, but we parked on the sandy area closer to the sidewalk. Quiet and safe. Plus great views of the sunset!

Parking le long de la plage il y a un peu de circulation la nuit mais c’est raisonnable. Belle vue sur le coucher de soleil.

I arrived there at 10pm and while I saw two other overlander cars, it was way too noisy! Cars use the parking area to avoid the speed bump and zoom by you at high speed and it makes the car shake every times. I left after 10 minutes.

Lugar bastante tranquilo, algo de circulación de vehículos durante la noche. Estuve en julio fuera de temporada y era el único vehículo en 300m de calle, alguien tocó a la puerta de mi kombi a las 2am, no contesté y no pasó de eso.

We wanted to stay here, but it does no longer seem possible. They constructed a new beach promenade with parking along the road, but unless you hobble over the sidewalk by force and drive right onto the beach (which would not be ok I guess), there is no other option than the exposed roadside.

We also parked over night on the sandy Parking just next to the road side parking. Parking is from 9am-8:30pm and is a flat rate of 1750pesos for the whole day. Nice view of the beach and sunset. Pretty peaceful but a far few people passing by into the later hours. Very safe and also near to the police station with police on bikes regularly patrolling up the beach.
