The Resort has closed, but the parking lot and trailhead parking remain open and Free!
The Campground is in the same road up to the lake, but the parking lot showed no signs that indicate overnight parking is prohibited. Spoke with the campground host, and as the camp was full, he was actually the one that suggested it.
The lake is just outside Yosemite Park and is absolutely breathtaking with some fantastic hiking and (cold) swimming. Great place to spend a night or two at 10,000 feet above sea level. Remember to use the garbages and keep this place clean!

Stayed here for 2 nights. Felt extremely safe! There is a pit toilet but it has no toilet paper currently. The first night there was no one there besides me and the second night there were a few cars. I left my teardrop trailer there while I went into Yosemite NP and it was fine. It takes about a little under 2 hours to get to Yosemite Valley. There were some mosquitos. Was a decent spot!
Report Check-InActually stayed here 2 months ago but came back to review it after our West Coast road trip because it was by far the most beautiful free spot we stayed at on our trip. If you are reading this, stay here!!! We were apprehensive driving in because the narrowing road had some pot holes and didn't seem to lead anywhere but we followed it all the way to the very end and were handsomely rewarded. You know you're there when you see the drop toilets.
Report Check-InParked there after YoSemite, but people told us, it's not a campground. Went back to one step deeper (about 3000maSL), with a great S-W view to madows and snow-covered mountains. No facilities.
Report Check-InStayed at a pullover that is before the parking lot. Much better view!
