Description

Great place!!! Lovely place on the beach with great view on the sea. Good to swim and snorkeling in the coral reef (according to the tides). Camping possible but they have nice bungalow for 600 MTC for 2 persons. More than excellent local seafood. We took a walk from Ibo island to Quirimba island during low tide and stayed a night at this place. Definitely recommend!

Latest Check-Ins

Mussa and Laila are lovely hosts, the food is great (seafood, matapa, carril, rice..), accommodation is either a little rustic chalet or you can pitch your tent on the sand or they can organise mosquito nets under the thatched roof. They have been hit by the cyclone Kenneth but they rebuilt the campsite.
Shower is bucket water (fresh water is scarce on the island). Bring your own drinking water.
Ask them to organise you a guide and exploring the island and the local community (there is also a lovely old men that make baskets and straw hats)

You can arrive in Quirimba island either by boat (according to the tide) or walking from Ibo island. On Ibo there is the Association of Guides, a very good guide is Benjamin, he can take you to Mussa's place.

Updated pricing:
Mussa insists and confirms sleeping in the hut is 700 Met Per Person, NOT per hut.
Breakfast is 150 Met. Very basic with 2 bread rolls, fried egg and coffee or tea.
Pricing for lunch and dinner could range 300 to 350, depending on Mussa's mood.
Quantity of rice was plentiful, but portion of seafood wasn't generous. Quite simple cooking, Medium~small size fried fish, tomato coconut sauce with rice. And it's overpriced in my opinion compare what you can get on Ibo island.
You could try sweet talk, and Mussa might give you special price.
In conclusion, I would recommend a day trip here, but not staying overnight. Unless you have your own tent. Even better if you bring cooking utensils.

Sorry mate, additional info.
So we were 3 and sleep in the only 2 huts here.
Each hut is 700 Met, doesn't matter one or 2 persons sleeping. Mussa tried to charge us 700 Met Per Person for sleeping. Lunch was 300 Met. Mussa said 350 for lunch when i settle my bill the next morning.
They are lovely people and it's a beautiful place. But I don't appreciate the somewhat 'dishonesty'.

Nice place and looks like the only place to stay in Quirimba. We were 3 and Mussa tried to charge us 700 Met Per Person.

Musa’s Place is great. It has been a campsite for a few years, they now have two small, basic but nice bungalows with a comfy bed and mosquito net and they are building a two double room bungalow.
The people are lovely and the food was very good and extremely fresh. We just had what was on offer from the local fishermen every day.
It’s all very basic but authentic. It’s right at the beautiful beach and in the community, so early morning sounds around.
There is no electricity and no running water but we were provided with some lights and there is plenty water from the pump for a nice bucket shower.
We stayed 5 nights and loved it.
