Description

Walmart parking lot, not too noisy. Mobile security cameras with blue flashing lights and recorded messages stop after hours. Closes 11pm, opens 7am. If you want access to the free Wi-Fi, you’ll need to park close to the store.

One of the best Walmarts visited. Quiet place in the night. Plenty of space.

Report Check-In

A very nice Walmart. Don’t sleep too close to the bus stop by the garden center, there is a man living there that feeds the birds early in the morning.

Report Check-In

Several other rigs of various description parked here for more than three nights we noticed as we were doing business in town. We stayed one night. Could smell the sewer plant occasionally. Good stop for re-supply before moving on.

Report Check-In

Decent neighborhood. Walmart is decently kept up with. Prior to staying, I called Walmart and the staff confirmed that overnight parking is allowed and they would prefer you park by the lawn and garden section away from the doors.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night in Class B along with 4 others rigs. Had a quiet and safe stay. Used WM washrooms and spent $$$ there. It confirms previous comments, big thanks to WM.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night. Pretty quiet. Water treatment plant next door so occasional wafts of sulfer smell but I didn't notice when I was in for three night.

Parked next to the garden center and was too far away to get Walmart wifi.

Report Check-In

Large store, only a few other RV and vans stayed. Lot quieted after 1000p
Otherwise all was good

Spend a few nights here. Convenient if you need to be in the area. Verizon and AT&T reception are poor here. This Walmart is not (or no longer) 24hrs. It closes by 11pm.

Report Check-In

Walmart parking lot. Other rv’s we’re here. No problems

Report Check-In

A convenient spot to get prepped for border crossing to Baja. Costco and Dollar Tree nearby as well as other retail units. Propane available for campers from Tractor Factory which is around the corner. Free dump and waterfrom I-8 rest area to the east. A sprinkling of vans overnighting and doing it in a quiet and respectful way. Let's keep it that way.

Walmart of El Centro, slept overnight with no issues

Report Check-In

It is a Walmart parking lot, so a little bit of noise until it closes at 11:00pm. a few trees for shade, not too many.
My only real and major concern is the stinky water treatment facility behind it, the smell is pretty bad. Woke me up a few times.
I'm honestly kicking myself for not staying at the Brawley Walmart less than 20min away. Lots of shade, no stink. Don't make my mistake...choose Brawley.

Report Check-In

The lot itself is fine, no issues parking there. Asked customer service, they said 24-48hrs is fine.

The real problem is the wastewater treatment plant immediately behind Walmart. The smell hits you and kinda makes you want to leave. It can be really bad, or non-existent, not sure what the driving force is. Just something to keep in mind.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for one night while in town to run errands. We tried to call ahead to ask about overnight parking but no one answered. No “No Overnight” parking signs that we saw, but your typical Walmart security cameras and flashing blue lights. We asked a manager as we were leaving Walmart about overnight parking and he said it was no problem and to park on either end. We parked away from the store closer to the lawn & garden area. No one bothered us and you get the usual street noise that you get when parking at a Walmart lot.

Report Check-In

Spent the night here. no issues. closes 11pm. not too bad for a Walmart in a city.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night, totally fine. Little noisy til they closed at 11, but a good night’s sleep after. We parked way at the back, straight out from lawn & garden where we saw the flashing mobile security cams (and other campers) - only down side was the free Wi-Fi doesn’t quite reach this far effectively.

Report Check-In

spend two nights there. no problem. good wifi

Report Check-In

Still open for over night rv parking, the manager told us to park at either the far north or far south side of the parking lot. We parked near the overhead security cameras. Some road noise, but not bad. Every one is wearing masks.

Report Check-In

arrived before dark, no other RVs, vans etc around. 2 police surveillance cameras on north end with bright blue flashing lights. Not sure if would be safer or they would come kick me out, so parked on south side. Was never bothered. woke up around 6:30 to find van and RV here too.

Report Check-In

Very busy and noisy. Big group of drunk guys hung out near our rig until midnight. Lots of RVs though, but I would pick camping in the desert over this Walmart.

Report Check-In

Overnight PARKING ok.
Quiet, however 24 hours open.

Report Check-In

24hr Walmart. Plenty of other Overlanders staying. Mcdonald’s inside if that’s your thing. Wifi available.
Fine for a night or two.
