Great geiser indeed ( i never seen one before). Further in the mountains you can see more steam pluums. The road is bumpy but do able and a very scenery environment.

Report Check-In

Needed to show ticket at beginning of the gravel road. Road is in good shape to the bridge, and a bit more bumpy after to the parking lot. It is a bit steep and loose in some places, but any vehicle should be able to make it. Was an interesting place to visit.

Campervan Renault Master L1H1 2800kg 2-wheel drive

Way up and down doable for our campervan. Way up a little steep but if you drive slowly it will be fine. If you have a 2-wd then it’s better to wait a little before the gate and then go up. We had to go back a little because of lack of power.

The geyser are still active and for us pretty impressive because we never seen a geyser before. You can go literally next to the geyser so that’s cool!

Report Check-In

The geyser is still active. There is a pretty big (for 10 cars maybe?) and flat parking lot there. The gravel road is loose and steep-ish but even doable with our 6 meter long, front-wheel-drive, low clearance Fiat Ducato. Most likely any kind of vehicle will make it to the top during dry season.

Report Check-In

The geyser is really interesting. And surrounding ground is hot and bubbly. However, the river is still icy cold. No soaking pools! Path is short and okay for dogs. They will not go to rivers edge, as rocks get hot.

Very active geyser indeed - it spews hot steam without stopping (and it's loud, too). From the parking, it's a very small descend to the river, where you will be on hot ground with steam escaping and bubbling hot water.

We arrived at 12:30 - we met three cars going up and there were three more about to leave. From 13:00, we had the place to ourselves. Ate lunch, saw Condors.

Report Check-In

You have 9km from the main road to this viewpoint, in dry season quite easy (we did it without 4x4). There was only 3-4 tourists on the road. This viewpoint could also be a nice camping spot, lonely, among the mountains.

Great spot. No one here indeed. 2 stream crossings easy to do, the third one for big wheels only. Absolutely worth the effort. Bring your picnic. We were there around 1 pm and saw 5 condors here.

amazing
river is easy in dry season. very little water.

Report Check-In

nice stop. pretty easy road in most cars other than the water crossing which is not so deep in dry season

Report Check-In

Road is an easy dirt road but 1 water crossing is a bit bumpy so may be hard in a normal car or with low clearance. Bikes no issue. Water was barely flowing when we went as dry season. Definitely worth the effort as the views were beautiful an there was no one else there. Also we saw other clouds of smoke from the volcano behind. Great stop after watching the condors a few km away.
