Description

This is a campsite at the trailhead to the volcano. It's about 3k from Lago Tromen. There are a couple of other hikes in the area as well. A visitor center is right next to the campground with all sorts of info. Big rigs, there are some sharp turns so I don't think you'll make it in here. However, there is a large parking lot nearby where we saw a big Unimog parked for the night so you could camp there. There are signs in the park saying no pets allowed; not sure if this is enforced. The bathrooms are across the street from the campground next to the visitor center. The man who runs it is a talker, be warned! Also roosters here :(.

Latest Check-Ins

This place is a bit of a rip off if you ask me. The new sanitary block was locked. We had no showers and only one old and filthy toilet that we had to flush using a bucket. We still had to pay the full amount. We arrived pretty late so we stayed anyway but wouldn't have if we knew what we would get for our money. Nice volcano view though :)

Report Check-In

Really nice campsite with lots of individual sites, each with table and seats and a fireplace. We had no issues driving our van into the place (2.6m high). The toilets were pretty clean. Beautiful views of Lanin Volcano and perfect starting point for the hike to base camp.
Price is still 3k per person and 1.5k for vehicles.

Report Check-In

We didn't go any further than the reception, our rig would never fit through all these low hanging branches. But it's open now in January. Costs 3000 pesos pp and 1500 pesos for a motorhome.

Report Check-In

Nice spot in forest. Bathrooms average dirty. Wifi at info center pretty decent when big groups not around. 3,000 adults/ 1,500 trailer.

Report Check-In

Fui informada de que o camping estaria autorizado. Porém, chegando no local, não havia atendimento e a guarda-parque avisou que não poderia passar a noite ali.

Report Check-In

The campground is closed until december. We could not stay in the national park, so we stayed beside the road at the park entrance sign.

Report Check-In

2000 pesos for 2 adult+1baby+camper / night. No other possibilities to stay around the Lanin. Camping place is nice, lot of trees, but toilet just at the visitor center ( dirty,no paper...). Ideal if you want to do the track.

Report Check-In

beautifull place with Lanin view. 1000pp with shower and toilet. only place to sleep in the park

Report Check-In

We were charged 1000 pesos p.p. plus 800 pesos for the Sprinter Van MH.
Toilets dirty and with no running water.

Report Check-In

We found a place with a motorhome (length: 6,5m; height: 3,30m). Very nice place with direct view on the volcano. Cheap: we paid 1000pesos/p plus 1000 for motorhome. Showers costs extra (300pesos), but they are very ugly.

Report Check-In

We came in our RV (Fiat Ducato) and spent one night here. Beautiful view! If you want to camp as close as one could camp this is the place. The camp site is very simple, so it's better to bring all you would need with you. In this zone there's free wifi.

Report Check-In

Still a lovely place. Very quiet. Price is 1000 pesos pp.
Hike to mirador is closed but to the lake is perfect. Good wifi with laptop but with iphone we were not close enough. Had to go closer to the park office.

Report Check-In

It is a beautiful place, we stayed here for one night to make trails. Our mh is a ford f 4000, with about 8 meters and with we go in here, took a few branches of trees but ok
There is Internet from tourisi information.

Report Check-In

lindo lugar donde pasar la noche y hacer caminatas. no hay agua caliente. hay espacios determinados donde acampar.
nice place to spend the night. There is no hot water. There are certain spaces where to camp.

Report Check-In

We stayed for one night in off season and paied 120pp. Fire, water as well as tables on site. Toilets at the tourist info.

Report Check-In

The campsite itself is beautiful, but it feels like badly maintained. There was no shower and not even a toilet. The owner didn't seem to bother. We had to use the bushes and we were for sure not the first ones... We paid only 120 pp, but a wild camp would be better.

Report Check-In

Nice campground, some grassy sites, water taps, fireplaces.

We paid 120 ARS per person.

Report Check-In

Campsite just before the border to Chili. We decided to camp here because we had already bought food for dinner and you can’t bring any fruits and vegetables from Argentina into Chili. Each side has a picnic table. Some areas of the campside were very dusty. There were a lot of flies, horseflies and other bugs which was irritating. There are toilets (no showers) next to the tourist information which is quit a walk for the campsite. There is also (open)wifi near the information building. We paid 240 pesos (6usd at the time), but there were also people staying overnight on the parking lot next to the informstion centre and the parking lot at the other side of the road and they were closer to the facilities and didn’t pay.

Report Check-In

Nice camping close to the border. There are beautiful flat hidden spots and good wind protection with tap water fire pits and tables.
I saw a beautiful friendly fox and some rabbits walking around my tent in the afternoon, and a lot of birds. The sky is absolutely amazing at night. Not sure about the access if you have a big rig, I doubt recommend to get in. For a vehicle type sprinter, no problem. Paid $120 for the night.

Report Check-In

when we came, the camping was still closed, but were allowed to stay anyway, even without paying. there will be toilets,... available as soon as the camping opens officially.

Report Check-In

guardaparque let me stay in parking lot in front of info center for free. open wifu reaches car. camping also open, no idea about price. if you do the 4hr loop hike make sure you hike it clockwise!! better for the view while walking :)

Report Check-In

Very basic campsite. 100 ARS/pp. we stayed here because we couldn't cross the boarder (closing at 8pm!! Be careful with that). The rain didn't stop all day long we were 5 in a small car, 2 camped under the rain and the 3 other slept in the car. We parked the car at the parking next to the campsite and just paid for the two people in the tent. Toilets but no shower/shelter. Wifi from the park (!!)

Report Check-In

Campground next to the information and guard office close to the Chili border. Lawn surrouded by trees (should give good wind protection). Picnic benches and fire places, water near pitches, toilets. No showers, electricity wifi. Very big rigs may have to stay on the parking. Nice view of Mt. Lanin. Free of charge.

Report Check-In

It is not free - 80 ARS pP. Register and pay to the Mapuche man at the entry.
Very small access road with small turns not for big rigs. We had to be very careful with our RV: 3.2 high, 2.3 wide, 5.8 long.
Some places with water, fire pits, seats and tables

Report Check-In

As described, camping is next to the guardaparque office. It is within the national park and counts as 'camping agreste'. They charge 80p.P., car is free. Some grassy sites but also quite some dust. Only some level sites for car based camping. Still a nice place to stay at, close to the volcán Lanin and several walks. Be sure to do the walk to cerro mirador which is 1hour return, eventhough it says 2.5 hours at the trail head. For keen hikers the ascent to the refugio caja amarillo at Lanin is a must - spectacular views! The camping is run by friendly mapuche which do fabulous 'chorripans', 'tortas fritas' and 'pan casero'. This might change in the future as the lease holders will change.

Report Check-In

We dont pay for camping here, now is a Free Camp from the NP.

The Mapuche man who runs it is a talker, every time we were outside he was there, super nice but exhausting.
