We were looking for general service, had some minor reparations. At first Rolando wanted to give as an appointment in almost one week, once he realized there wasn’t much money to earn. Then he told us prices way overrated. Not a recommended mechanic, unless you want to spend a fortune.

First, Rolando and his Team are awesome! We came in with our car, a Nissan Pathfinder 2003, almost death. Our Engine had overheated and the gaskets was blown and the hole block was bended. Here they was able to rebuild our complete Engine, with new bearings, sealed everything, new piston rings, engine block was flattend etc. Great work for a nice price! Rolando is maybe the friendliest guy i meet in the last 10 months. He explained us everything, took us to the sparepartshops and the other workshops where we could directly see what it will be cost. The repair took a bit time (3weeks), so he showed us from time to time his favourite eating places in town and some other hidden gems. He is always busy, but he tryed everytime to have time for us when we had questions. After the engine job we trusted that guys so much that we also let them fix some stuff at our rear axle ( car was wobbeling at higher speeds). They looked at it and found some bad and destroyed rubber fittings that normaly damp and hold the axle in place. After the replacement the issue was gone! This guys really now what they are doing! In the 3 weeks it was possible to sleep in the Workshop to save some money. And yeah, after 3 weeks with them they become like friends. If you read this, we really miss you Rolo!! Big hug to you! I think this place is maybe the best and most honest mechanic in Lapaz maybe in complete South America. If it would be possible i want to give 6 stars for this place!

One thing, his contract for this place runs out at April 2019, and he has to move to a new place. So better call him first when you come to him after march 19. Number is in the comments below and still working.

Rolando is a nice guy, helpfull and a good mecanic. Reasonable prices. We highly recommend him and his team! So go there when your car has troubles or for maintenance.

Rolando is amazing. He does great work for a great price and does it with a smile. He went out of his way to help us set up our new vehicle which came with nothing. He has a wealth of knowledge and shares it. We absolutely recommend him and are sad to say goodbye to our new found friend.

Shop was too busy to fit our rig in so Rolando scheduled us for Monday. he had some unexpected emergencies come so work didn't start till the afternoon, but it all got done without any issues and for a fair price. His number is 22740729

Rolando is a very nice guy and very helpful. He speaks very good english learned in mecanic school in UK. He is not a diesel specialist but knows how can help. We can stay in front of his shop for the night.

After 19 months in SA we have faith in mecanics again, all because of this man! We had an issue that has been 'fixed' by three mecaincs in three different countries - all of them were really expensive and failed to fix the issue because they didn't properly diagnose the problem.
Rolando however not only listened to us but did a thorough check and properly diagnosed the long lasting issue. He & his team welded the broken chassis and our motor lowering story finnaly came to a happy ending.
Because of not only profesional job but also very hospitable attitude (Rolando is a proud paceño and he will happily share hidden gems of La Paz) we decided to make additional rebuild of front drive train that was not urgent but highly recommended. Rolando explained us every step of the process and we even accompanied him when buying parts.
We are very satisfied with his work, his more than fair pricing and would definitely recommend his shop. Rolando also speaks good English and will one day race in Dakar :) We'll definitely cheer for him!

We came here looking for Juan, a mechanic who was recommended by the owner of Anticafe, however Rolando was here, not Juan.. and we think it was meant to be!

Rolando and his team helped us to diagnose and fix a problem with the engine overheating in our Nissan Pathfinder. We had thought it was the thermostat, but knew it could also be due to dust from the roads in Beni and/or the steep inclines at altitude. Rather than leading us into a repair we didn't need, he worked with us to pinpoint the issue and repair it. The service was honest, efficient and well priced. We asked him to change our oil and oil filter while we were there as we were nearly due for this, and he cleaned both our air filter and fuel filter as well, at no extra cost. While we were there, we also took advantage of the chaperia service and had our rear bumper repaired - an old injury from the previous owner.

Rolando has lived in the UK and completed mechanical training in both the UK and North America.. He is a motor enthusiast who loves car racing and also restoring bikes and go-carts.. He is such a nice guy and he prides himself in providing a fair and honest service. What a great find, definitely recommended!
