Description

Ferry from Pt Maldonado to Punto Canelo crossing lago Tagua Tagua. In off season it departs here at 12.00 and 16.30 and arrives an hour later at Pt Canelo. From Pt Canelo it leaves at 9.00 and 13.00 and arrives an hour later at Pt Maldonado. In summer (december to march) there is an extra morning crossing. We paid 14.000 for a Mercedes Vario with 2 passengers, but with double wheels. A car or pick up is half that. Not sure if online reservations are possible but we arrived an hour before and people were already lining up and space is limited! Well worth the trip to explore further into the Rio Puelo valley which is still relatively wild and untouched as the road is a dead end at the argentinean border. Clean bathrooms and waiting area on both sides and also some nice spots to park and camp for the night if you want to be on time for the early ferry.
