Little bit of a very easy track to get to. We were on two motorcycles and had no problem. In our opinion a great camping site. Cold draft beer, good steaks and a brilliant breakfast. It’s right on the the river bank with a swimming pool. All the facilities you need and very reasonably priced. Boat trips if you want. Great overlanders overnight place. Staff and owner super friendly. Nice vibe around the large camp bar. I’d stay longer but have to keep going.

Wonderful camp, clean and neat. Great hospitality. On site bar with fair prices. N$150pp to camp. Recommend to take the sunset cruise. Do not use Tracks 4Africa or Google maps. Follow road signs

Very easy going, relaxed campsite. Green, grassy area to pitch your tent next to the Okavango river. Spotless clean, nice hot showers.

Very friendly owner, who repaired us our camping chair in his outdoor workshop.

Definitely recommend!

We stayed here twice on our trip and were lucky to get one of the two campsites at the river. We had some really peaceful nights there and enjoyed it.

Really a lovely, grassy and quiet spot. We arrived a little late and had dinner at the bar. A super juice soft club steak and best chips I had with salad in a long time. Gert and Elsa were great hosts. Nice hot shower and wonderful clean ablutions.
Lovely view over the river.

A real hidden gem!
Camp Hogo Kavango

The hosts Gert and Elsa are very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming and the price is excellent.

If you are looking for a typical Namibian family run campsite, then this is the place!
The grassy sites are right next to the river and the bar/restaurant has a deck with a lovely view onto the water.
There are also tents on wooden platforms equipped with attention to details. Half of them also right at the river
Ablutions are simple but with very hot water and clean.
We stayed a day longer than planned and did the sundowner boat trip. We really enjoyed the warm welcome and the friendliness of the owners!
We paid 150 N$ pppn.

OK Campsites, abolutions are fine, running hot and cold water, however this campsite does NOT have any Portable water. With a river next door should be possible to install a basic filter shouldnt it? Increased price to 150pppn. Same price as Mobola lodge but for sure Mobola lodge is like 10times nicer!

Report Check-In

Price is now 150$N. Sites are nice with river view, braai and power. Surroundings are a bit of a mess. Ablutions rustic, but functional and clean. Had better camps for this price.

Report Check-In

Nice location right next to river, place has so much potential but have room for improvement. Note you cannot consume your own alcohol on premises, have to buy everything from the bar. N$150pp for camping.

Report Check-In

Campground, tented camp, and bar on the river. x2 river front campsites. x3 male & x3 female toilets/showers. Swimming pool is pumped from river. Local day visitors welcomed & hangout till late. Rustic and cheap.

Report Check-In

Camping is now 120 $N pppn.

Wifi (Slow) available. But good MTC LTE signal.

Big Trucks should take the 4x4 road for the last 2 KMs. There is a sign after the turn off close to the border post. You’ll see the sign.

LEFT road is 4x4, RIGHT Road is too narrow for big trucks and the trees & branches too low.

Report Check-In

Nothing to add other then a strong recommendation for the beer from the tap at the bar. Absolutely great.
It is a great place to stay

Report Check-In

Nice campground at the river on lawn. The owners are from South Africa and have the property since 2 years.
At night we heard two gunshots and the owner told us it was him because some cows were entering the property. They also advised us not to leave the property at nighttime. Some people could shoot us... A bit crazy... but we felt save.
Wifi was not the best but we had Wifi ;)
Price is now 120.- pppn.

Great camping—highly recommended. Gerte and Elsa are like your favorite uncle and aunt who lived on a river bank and you used to visit every summer!!
Good home cooking, reasonably priced—we normally cook but here, we enjoyed their cooking.
Close to Rundu, which is good for resupplying.

Very nice camp site. Lovely friendly owners. wi fi is good and fast. Meals are available. breakfast was huge.

Great place to while away a few days fishing and drinking draught with Oma and Opa. I had some time to kill waiting for Angola visa and can recommend this homely place. It's on the river and they have safari tents and camping pitches. Good food, not great wifi (but who cares) and you can fish, canoe etc. Ask about Kavango Lotto after a few draughts, or a couple of shots of Crocodile pee over Knoble!
