as already described: very nice and above all very clean toilets and showers. like in a good hotel! When we arrived in the evening the gate was locked and by phone we reached no one. we used the by-pass on the right side. the operators were in the pool and had not heard us. So: if closed use the by-pass right. We also get coffee for free in the morning. We stayed right next to the sea: Fantastic !!!

A bit steep for what you get at 150 pesos per person. Sites are actually in the parking lot, so you can't see the beach but can hear it. Pretty beach but steep for walking and not good for swimming. Road in is quite overgrown and would be difficult for tall or wide vehicles. Stay right at fork after you turn off the highway. Deluxe palapa common area. Clean, new shared bathroom with showers. No Wi-Fi, no water spigots. We got dish water from the bathroom.sinks. No dogs, which we appreciate.

Would not recommend going here. It is a nice site but we were forced to leave after setting up because the owner was having a private party and decided he did not want to see any campers in the parking lot. The manager was very apologetic but non the less we had to leave in the dark and find a new place to camp.

Very nice pool and lounge area, very clean. The owners weren’t there so it’s Antonio who welcomed us. Not the kind of smiling person.. mixed feelings as the neighbor that lives in the house by the hotel comes to introduce himself. I try to don’t judge people but this man full of tattoos ( I mean almost everywhere) didn’t make me feel confortable. Felt like he was checking who was on his territory. But that is just my feeling. We stayed one night, charged us 150 pesos per person, even for our 10 years old.

Very nice place, beautiful pool and barbecue area with hammocks and lounge area. Miles of beach for ourselves and clean. You can either camp on the parking lot or pick any spot you wish under the palmtrees. Very friendly owners, Cynthia and Eduardo will take you out for seafood and like to hang out with you in the evening. https://www.facebook.com/PLAYADELAGUILA/?timeline_context_item_type=intro_card_work&timeline_context_item_source=100001018615836

Report Check-In

The gate was closed when we pulled up, but we called the number and a nice guy walked up to let us in. The place is amazing - a little oasis with a nice pool, barbecue area, and a of course a gorgeous beach, but they wanted 300 pesos for two of us to camp. Being entirely deserted, we didn’t stay.

Report Check-In

by far the nicest camping spot we have found, clean, well maintained, lovely pools and miles of deserted beach. lovely shaded palapa with a bbq and comfortable chairs.

Report Check-In

Had the place to ourselves. Turn left at the cobblestones if you have a van or something bigger. The low trees will get you otherwise

Report Check-In

Saw a sign on Hwy 200 past Playa Azul heading west that read "Playa de Aguila Suites Camping Private Property" so headed the short distance on a cobblestone driveway that ended at a secluded resort-type property with no cars. I asked the caretaker (Spanish only) about camping with my tent and he said anywhere I wanted to was fine. I set my tent up in a large palapa with concrete pad & 4 hammocks.
The property is on Playa Aguila (which is not on any map I found) and is situated between Playa Las Calabasas & Playa Penas. There is a big sign on the road (see photo) so you can't miss it. There is a store a 5-minute drive to Playa Penas that has ice & groceries. There was never anyone on the long stretch of beach when my dog and I walked several times a day. There are suites in the building on the property (1200 pesos/night).
There is a separate area with bathroom and showers as well as an outdoor kitchen with electricity and water faucet. There is a large seating area next to the outdoor kitchen with chairs. There are several swimming pools on the premises.
There is a small turtle sanctuary building with nesting area next to the property but someone told me they usually do a turtle liberation into the sea 1-2 times a month. Someone I met on the beach did show me a turtle nest and showed me several turtle footprints where they had left nests.
All in all I stayed here for 3 days and would have stayed longer if there were not so many other beaches along this coast to explore. The Michoacan coast seems to be less populated with people (and tourists) compared to the Puerta Vallarta and Mazatlan areas and seem to be populated with Mexicans rather than foreigners. Surprisingly no dogs on premises so didn’t have to use earplugs.
100pesos/night (worth it due to seclusion & property)
