Stayed two nights on "Forest Rd.". Simple but in walking distance to Shops and Restaurants. Quite at night!
Slow but free Wifi from the Fire Department "SFDguest". Signs saying: RV no parking on the parking lot, RV stay on Forest Rd., what we did without problems.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Parking here isnt actually allowed. Yes there are vans/rvs here every night, but car camping anywhere within sedona city limits is actually illegal. I've been staying here for the past four nights, with multiple other vans/rvs every night, and seen a cop car slowly go up and down the street each evening with no problem so it seemed legit. But just now in early morning after my fourth night I saw a cop putting warnings on everyone's windshields (no doubt it'll be a ticket next time). i asked her and she said no parking overnight in city limits. Have to drive out to forest roads outside city limits.
Report Check-InJust perfect!! Very quiet, just off the main road past the fire station and at the top of the little hill, you get to the parking area. RV’s must park on the spots outside of the main parking lot, but if you have a van like I did, you can park up anywhere and put your feet up :)
The views on each side are spectacular, especially at sunset!! Not many other campers around so was very peaceful at night and in the morning. There’s a little shop market/souvenir shop just at the bottom of the road past the fire station where you can buy food, and public rest rooms (very clean) just next to it...in case you have an emergency in the morning lol ;)
The main shopping/restaurant street is just down the road too (although not many open at this time due to the current situation with the virus) but still a few...
Stayed here two nights and it’s a perfect location for exploring Sedona and the Red Rock state park...I did Bell Rock trail, Cathedral Rock trail, and Fay Canyon Trail in the two days which I highly recommend...you won’t be disappointed! Gorgeous views for days all around this area, it’s astonishing!!
If you’re driving from Flagstaff, do take the scenic drive down to Sedona along the 89A...it might take slightly longer but the scenery all the way down is so worth it, and it really is an amazing drive!
Remember, this is free camping in a wonderful and clean area, so follow the basic rule “pack in, pack out” to keep it this way :)
Spent two nights here in the diagonal spaces, no issues. A few other vans and sprinters were nearby as well.
Report Check-Inverified, good spots. Some parallel spots for big B or small Cs and diagonal spots for everyone else. A few are level. quiet at night and close to downtown. Public restrooms just down the hill and another set on Jordan Rd nearby are both fine. The sign seems to refer to the lot to the south, not to street parking. Several vans and overnight cars last night and tonight.
Report Check-InStreet parking. Very quiet. We were not the only campervan !
Starbucks not too far for toilets.
Safe and quite place to stay overnight. Nobody bothered us. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Two more RV next to us. Sign says RV not allowed but I guess it’s about big rigs.
Report Check-Injust as described. stayed one night with no problem with a few other cars around. wifi from FD is free but weak. close to shops and restaurants. bathroom/potable water at visitor center down the road but not sure if it closes or not. didn't seem like it but who knows. RV's must stay on street
Report Check-InAs easy as everyone says! Park on the road, not in the lot. Great cell, as there is a tower nearby. Restrooms at the chamber of commerce at the bottom of the street and also in the shopping center next to it. Stayed two nights no problem.
Report Check-InStreet parking next to tourist lot. We took two spots as we are approx. 30’. An ambulance camper pulled in after us and stayed the night behind us. We stayed one night, no problems. Walk to shops restaurants etc. Close to fire station. great spot for being in Sedona proper.
Report Check-InRv’s must stay on Forest rd, not in the lot. We stayed on the road 2 nights and didn’t have any issues. If you have a WiFi booster you’ll probably get WiFi from the fire station. Good at&t cell signal. There are bathrooms and filtered water (for bottles, not tanks) at the chamber of commerce just 1/10 of a mile down forest road.
Report Check-Ingood spot near main strip. lot itself says "no RVs" but Forest road is ok for vans and small rvs. two other small vans stayed there. wifi didn't work. near drink fountains and toilets. pretty quiet.
Report Check-InParked in the free parking lot for one night in our Sprinter van. No problems.
Report Check-InAs described... very busy during the day. SFD Wi-Fi is available, but only if you're super close to the station.
Report Check-InAs described by many others. Was a great spot to have after working/eating in the city. Quiet at night and bathrooms down the street.
Report Check-InAll good for a night or two in town. Busy during the day, but very quiet overnight.

Report Check-InI confirm that this is a good spot for free overnight staying. Stayed two nights without issues.
Restrooms at the visitor center are not open all night, probably till 11.00 pm. Open at about 9.00 am.
Very quiet at night. Unable to connect to wifi from Fire Dep.
Stayed 3 nights, While we toured the area, quiet and Starbucks in plaza by firehall.
Report Check-InJust as described, quiet free parking in Sedona. Due to snow most of town was closed to business when we pulled in but waking up in red rock country covered in snow was awesome. Visitor's center just down road has open flush toilets and running water 24 hours (it seemed).
Report Check-InEstuvimos dos noches aca, increible lugar y muy tranquilo. Nos agarraron dos noches con mucho viento y se movia mucho la van
Report Check-Infree parking lot at the end of the road. stayed 2 nights no issues. there was loud music coming from a house close by one night but was turned off before at a reasonable time.
Report Check-InWe pulled over at 8pm and it was really calm. There was just an Austrian van, two big rvs and us. It felt safe. Perfect spot for a night. We left early in the morning.
Report Check-InGreat spot for a night, with a bunch of other vanlifers. Short walk to bars and restaurants. Super quiet, and there’s public bathrooms half a block away towards the main road.
