We decided to stay here as it was very windy and we were tired of sleeping in a tent. As the reviews are pretty bad we didn't expect much. But it is actually an ok place to stay for one night. The rooms are basic and very old fashioned. But everything is really clean, you get towels, soap, shampoo, there is heating in the rooms and very hot water with good pressure. Coming from Chile, we didn't think that the price of around 50 euros for three, for the only hotel in the middle of nowhere, was that much.
It is definitely an interesting place worth a stop even if only for a coffee.

Basic, but ok hotel. 20000 ARS for a twin room with private bathroom. Beds were reasonably comfortable and bathroom ok for the type of place it is. Lots of hot water. Restaurant on site also serves dinner (but not breakfast) of Argentinian basics. As others have noted, very large portions. Most of the meals cost up to 6000 ARS.

Stayed the night due to hail. Room was clean and warm, 15000 ARG. We were hanging out in the restaurant area the whole afternoon switching from coffee to beers, then shared one meal for dinner (portions are indeed huge). Nothing special, but we enjoyed this 'middle of nowhere' kind of feeling in freezing temperatures and hail outside and were happy to have a roof over our heads.

This place doesn’t get much love from iOverlanders, does it? But... It’s in the middle of nowhere, 100km to a town each way, and that’s 100km with nothing but guanacos. The food servings are huge - enough for two. The rooms are surprisingly comfortable and they’re clean, with a gas heater that they light when you go in, no questions asked. The water is piping hot. The wifi works. They have gasoline. There’s a procession of Ruta 40 travellers and truck drivers for entertainment.

Well… as told before, avoid this place!
We stopped to have lunch, as it was the only place opened in the “city” and we were hungry. We asked a milanesa with french fries to share, and it costs 1500 pesos - besides the food being very bad, with lots of oil, minutes before we heard the attendant charging another person (a local, maybe) 1000 pesos for the same food with drink. In this way, we were charged more for being foreigners.

we asked for shower in Hotel Bajo Caracoles and the guy charged us 100 pesos argentinos pp. good for travelers!!!

try to not stop here. get gasoline before or after this trap. hotel is now 1700 ARS. Not possible to negotiate, everything is expensive here , when they have gasoline ,it cost more than double per liter.

The price was very expensive at 1500 for a room and parking is in the lot out the front. It is not secure but they do have poles you can chain bikes to etc. There were us, and 3 other bikers staying all with bikes outside and no issues. Price includes a super basic breakfast of some bread and jam plus a coffee. Hot shower, small heater in the room. beds comfy.

Everything in the shop is at least a third more expensive than anywhere else but probably because it's in the middle of nowhere. The staff were pleasant although the large owner guy was quite rude and doesn't take well to foreigners if you don't understand what he's saying right away. A good option if you need a rest.

1'500 ARS for a double/single with private bathroom. 2'100 for a triple with private bathroom. Dinner available, price depending on menu. Good WiFi for where you are.

Simple room. 1000 for 3 of us. Shop and petrol station. Shop has a few snacks - but we had our own food so took the liberty of eating it in the shop area which has tables. Tv there too. Beer and wine also available. Thankful for the heated room. Shared bathroom...but at this time of the year there is no one else staying here anyway..

Rooms from 1000 pesos which is v expensive but when the wind is doing its best to blow you off the road and into a ditch there isn’t much choice for shelter and a warm shower here. We negotiated to 900 for a matrimonial with private bathroom. Shop next door for snacks, coffee and beer.
