it was closed when we arrived today, one man inside fidnt seem to know when it would be open again. Not sure if its permanent but we were unable to stay.

This is a great place to stay in El Transito, Jeremy and Lola are very nice and welcoming people, due to the current situation in Nicaragua, they were considering on going back to France in November 2018. We hope this place continues to host travelers as all comments below are accurate. Dogs welcome, very clean kitchen, and natural pools are just a few steps from the campsite. Sympathique couple de Français, maison face à l'océan, quelques emplacements dry pour les camions.
Douche/WC vue sur l'océan .. Waouw !
Très tranquille , parfait pour faire une pause sur la route !

Description’s still accurate! Nice peaceful spot, Lola and Jeremy are really nice. Just next to the beach, with great sunset every night. The cheapest in the area, 4usd/p. Not really shaded though.

We stayed here for 4 nights, we could fit our Ford Wagon van in through the fence easy. Not a lot of shade in the parking area but it's fine. Jeremy and Lola are super friendly accommodating people! They recently adopted a puppy too. Amazing views of the beach and a surf break at the front. Full access to the great beach house and kitchen which is very nice! No wifi here but easy to walk to any of the two bars for wifi. Facilities to wash your clothes, rustic outdoor bathroom on the other side of the house, very safe here, and tents available as well as places to pitch your own. Great place we recommend it! $4pp per night and electricity is also available too.

I stayed 4 nights with my campervan. It's a quiet and clean place with trees and hammocks. Very friendly owner.

Best place you can stay in El Transito. Jeremy and Lola are terrific host. Full access to entire home with kitchen and outdoor shower/bathroom (with toilet seat 😁). The house is right on the water with a beautiful views. Walking distance to town and other beaches. Plenty of space to park multiple vehicles. One dorm room and hammocks/tents available outdoor.

Con-front gate has overhang, tall vehicles will NOT fit. The tallest vehicle that can fit is a current model Sprinter, hight roof, nothing on top other them small fan vent lid and extra weight. Solution-there is one parking spot (almost level) out on the street right in front. This is where we parked. Minimum street traffic, felt safe, no problem for only one vehicle outside the gate.

Really nice camp ground, Lola and Jeremy are so friendly. We park here for a few days, 8$/night/car. You can plug in too. There is an outside shower and toilet. On the beach with hamac. Bonfire possible and possible to use their bbq. The view is amazing!! You can use their kitchen. They have a room for 4 persons (40$) or 30$ for 2 to rent. 5 minutes walk to the little town of El Transito. There is a place to do your own laundry. Dog friendly!

I stayed 5 days and the time spent at “El Acampamento” makes part of the best memories that we kept until today since we started our trip. Lola and Jeremy are a awesome couple, we had a fantastic time together, we shared all of the meals together! The camp itself is fantastic for recharging the batteries and keep up the journey. The fact that there is no internet makes the whole time there even more positive! I ended up spending Christmas’s Eve with them..

Nice french couple. Nice place to stay with big field with hamock in the border of the ocean and the naturel pool.The gate for enter is hight to 2 m 85 . Jeremy can give to you some surf course. Very quiet .

Lovely campground own by a young french couple, located just in front of the beach. There is plenty of place to set tent and there is few hammocks disponible. There is also place for camper in the backyard. Potable water, toilet and exterior shower. The owners are very friendly! On the road, you'll see a green gate with a red sign (maybe they will change this in not so long). Up to me, it's the best spot if you want to spend few days in El Transito.
