Azalea Campground. $22 for a spot in a pine and sequoia forest. 110 places under the trees. One place with water and toilets at the entrance. Very nice.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Site reopend for the winter season on October 11th. It is first come first serve for the rest of the season. Still 22$/night, not 10 anymore. All of the loops are closed so there's only about 25 sites available.
The campground was full every single night. Filled up around 6pm on weeknights but 1pm on the weekend. Water is available but I'm not sure if it gets shut off at some point.
quarter mile from Kings Canyon visitors center. no cell service at the campground. every site has a picnic table and fire ring. check for fire restrictions. this is the best place go bring a trailer during the winter season, because most of the other campgrounds are closed, you can't drive through sequioa with a trailer, and the other campground open that accocodates trailers is all the way down in kings canyon.
sites aren't very level
Report Check-InLike many/most NPS sites, this is now reservation-only, through recreation.gov. This year, price is $22 (or $11 with senior pass).
The campsite is on hilly terrain, so they crowd as many sites onto the ridges as possible - you may be very close to your neighbor on a ridge. The sites in the valleys are a little bigger. Depending on site, you may have a long walk to the restroom.
You're a 5 minute drive from Grant Grove, which has WiFi, decent (if limited) food, etc.

Report Check-InHas bathrooms, sinks, bear boxes, and fire pits. Cost $22 a night unless you have an access pass or senior pass then it’s $11. Lots of spots.
Report Check-InVery beautiful campground next to général grant, small parking spots. The rangers are really nice.
Report Check-InNice little campground. All loops except main are closed probably because of COVID. Pretty good sites. I’ll definitely come back.
Report Check-InGorgeous spot. Our 33 ft motor home is probably about as big as you’d want to be during winter camping. 2 bars of Verizon, which seems a new addition (talking to other campers)
Report Check-InQuiet in the winter, most of the loops are closed. 10$ a night, with a warning that you might get stuck if it snows because it has a "low plowing priority ".
Report Check-InNice spot surrounded by pine trees.
$10 during winter.
1 amenity block is opened.
Running water.
Bear proof food lockers on site.
During the winter campsites here are $10 a night!! Some snow but well plowed! No showers, but there are flush toilets and dumpsters. 10/10 would stay here again.
Report Check-InNice and big campground.
Almost empty when we got here, and didn’t have issues in finding a nice and quite spot.
Restrooms are located only in the main side of the campground, closer to the entrance and the reservation station.
Water is available in every loop, one faucet per loop.
The spot is really nice, with lots of campgrounds in the middle of a pine and Séquoia forest. We came here, filled in our paper to book the place for 2 days and we enjoyed! We spotted the lot 58 : a crazy spot!
Each ground has a table, a fireplace with logs of wood. One spot with water and toilets at the entrance.
Great great spot for $18 per day.
