Description

A Nice little Hostal where you can camp. Not many flat areas, but some space and a great view over the lake. Downstairs is a nice beach. One of the most beautiful places we stayed in Peru.
From the mainroad it‘s 90 degree to the marked point, a small Pathway down with a red/orange gate. Walk down to the reception and they will come open the gate.
Toilets & hot water showers available. The people are very nice and they cook so good! 10 Sol per car, 10 sol for dinner pp.
And it is possible to make a tour to one of the floting island, where people still lives. Really recomendable and not so touristic. Ask Valentin for a tour. We payed 120 sol for 4 person (100 for 2).

great place, amazing view here!! we did the boat tour tô the floating island and it was great, it a good and big boat took us there, all arranged by Valentim, very organized, not very touristic, it was kind of exclusive your, we where in a group of 9 people and the boat cost 170 soles.
Recommend!!!

We stayed at Valentin's place for a night. We could have pitched our tent, but it was too cold, so we took the little pricy room option: 80 soles per person including three-course dinner and breakfast.
We also took the boat tour to go to Uros. It was 120 soles, but we ended up being 4 adults and a child, so we could split the price among us.

Report Check-In

Really friendly people, Valentins family. Wenn to the Uros by a small boat, payed 120 S for 2. The night in our camper cost 25 S. It is really a steep way to the Casa, make sure, you will make it up to the road again! Especially in the rainy season, which is right now.

We stayed 3 nights, wonderfull place with friendly family. We payed 25 soles per night for the camper and 3 persons. Dinner is nice but not spectacular. We arranged our day trips to the floating and surrounding islands here, really fair price. Recommended

What a spot! We spent 2 nights and hiked around, went for a swim in the lake… great place to relax safe spot to park the motos nice big room with lake views. We paid S.120 for the 2 of us per night including breakfast and dinner… and breakfast is no joke!!! No need for lunch after that!

Fantastic stay! Very homey space and welcoming hosts. We stayed in our van and our visiting family members stayed in a room. Wifi is a little less than average, but nothing to complain about. It’s very rural and beautiful here. Our hosts organized a boat for us to the island of Taquile and one of the floating islands. This full round trip cost 250 soles for 4 people - we had a larger boat to ourselves. Taquile is tranquil and beautiful - highly recommend. There are small shops, a restaurant, and cafe. The floating island was interesting as we learned how the floating islands are made and the lifestyle/culture of the locals. Bring soles as it is semi-expected to purchase a souvenir from the family on the island. Dinner was vegetarian and they happily accommodated those of us with vegan diets. Cash society here! Nearest atm is in Juliaca.

Very nice place with great view of the lake. The entrance from the main road is through a gate with the name of the farm, don't expect a public road. Going down/up is steep, but manageable with 2WD even with some rain/mud. There's not plenty of level space for many vehicles or a big rig though. WiFi is good, toilets are clean. We were allowed to shower in one of the empty rooms for no extra cost. The restaurant area is comfortable and can be used without ordering anything. However, their cooking is really good and we recommend having dinner there. You just have to inform them a few hours in advance. Soup, main course, desert cost 18 soles, 12 for only the main. 30 soles per night for the 2 of us in the roof tent.

Il est adorable et vous explique énormément de choses. mangez chez lui après pour 15 soles . excellent et il vous fait une démonstration avec sa femme de savon naturel, création de brique etc... Génial !!!

Nice people, 15 soles per car. Ask a boat trip with Freddy 120 for the boat whatever you are 2 or 15. Nice island visit even if buying a stuff there is expensive. Toilets not very clean.

Nice place, can't be close to the lake because the neighbor is building his house but that's OK. Toilets not really clean. My parents had a room with really hot shower. Ask a boat trip with Freddy, 120 soles for the boat whatever you are 2 or 12, we were 7 lot of space in the boat. Nice people in the island, good explanation, buy a stuff there is a bit expensive but better to do it, I would do it again.

Stayed one night. Road down to the spot was blocked with a barrel and stones, easy enough to move. Bathrooms were clean-ish, shower ice cold. We would have loved to stay longer but there is loud construction starting at 8am lasting until sunset right next to the vehicle parking. Valentin organized a tour to Isla Taquile for us that was great, but a little expensive at 100 soles for the two of us.

Linda vista para o lago. Banheiro ruim. Água quente só por um período do dia. Mas muito barato

Toilett surely hasn't been cleaned since the last comment. The flush was also blocked. we asked the woman kindly if she could clean it (as there was no place to hide for a baño natural) but nothing happenend. in the end we asked her for cleaning stuff and cleaned it ourselfes (it really was that bad).

the place has potential but right now is mostly under construction. there are a Lot of open wholes in the ground and men were working right next to our camper.

we stayed in night anyways, as we arrived late.

Valentin organised a fishermen with a boad that took us to a small floating island with very nice people, where we learnt a lot! That, we DO recommend, the place itself not at all. You will find way more beautiful wild Camping spots.

Easily fit in our full size Dodge Ram with pop up camper. Plenty of rocks, boards around to level off. Stayed on the top area because valentin is building a house for his son on the lower level. Fun to watch the locals with their sheep pass by the grounds on the way to the lake. The tour to one of the lesser touristy Uros islands was great...and right from the dock a stones throw from the property. No hot water in the shower, but heard that couple staying in ones of the rooms had hot water :) 10 soles per night for 2 adults and 5 year old.

decent place with a nice view. the road down is blocked by some stones which act like a gate and are easily moved. we had no problem in our long sprinter. I can't imagine any size vehicle not being able to make it down.

the owners seem a bit shy and are often not around but they were friendly and able to organize an island boat for us.

the bathroom wasn't that clean but there was a seat. shower was a warm trickle at 2 pm on a clear sunny day.

it looks like the rooms may have another better shower option.

we paid 15 soles per night to sleep in our car.

Following the ioverlander moderators suggestions this would be an informal campground

A Great home away from home!! Valentin and his family are great host. The place is in an ideal location overlooking the lake. The only down side is the small mud road to get down to his house. Fine for non 4x4 vehicles but big rigs will struggle. Rooms are 35 soles,Dinner 12 soles and tour can be organized for 100 soles to the non touristic floating island near by.

Our best place in Peru. Good view, hot showers, good food. we can recommend this place and Valentin and his nice Family. Do the tour to floating islands (100 sol - 2 people)!!! Camping is 10 sol for car and 2 P., with hot shower id 15 sol! Food is 10 sol p.P.

This is a place to relax; amazing view, nice little beach, quiet. If you plan to stay longer we suggest you bring enough food so you can cook. Yes, you can eat here and it is cheap (10 soles per 2 course meal), but after same soup for 3 nights and dry rice with trout or chicken every time we prefered cooking ourselves. Camping costs 10 soles per vehicle, with the use of toilet and solar shower which were never cleaned during our stay. Last day he wanted extra pay for the shower. There are many friendly dogs around but the ones that do not belong to the family are not welcome here - we saw Valentin kick a few weeks old puppy. The place is nice, the people... you decide.

A Nice little Hostal where you can camp. Not many flat areas, but huge of space and a graet view over the lake. Downstairs is a nice beach. One of the most beautiful places we stayed in Peru.
From the mainroad it‘s 90 degree to the marked point, a small Pathway down. During the day sometime‘s nobody there. But you can stay where you want.
Toilet there but not shure if there‘s a possibility to take a shower. But the people are very nice and they cook so good! 10 Sol per car, 10 sol for dinner pp.
And it is possible to make a tour to one of the floting island, where people still lives. Really recomendable and not so touristic. Ask Valentin for a tour. We payed 120 sol for 4 person (100 for 2).
