From the entrance there is a 2 km drive to the parking lot. 11 reales for car, 22 for campervan, in addition to the entrance ticket 94 reales pp. It is possible to walk if you don't want to pay for parking. At the parking lot there is toilets, restaurant, picnic area, and lots of staff to give information. There are two hikes. One is 6 km round trip. Flat and easy. Closes at 3 pm. The other is 1,5 km round trip. We think the parks are overpriced but they are beautiful, especially Fortaleza (see my comment on that pin)

Amazing canyon to visit! We think the road is in bad condition, really bumpy and a lot of holes. It took us almost 1hour for just 18km (from the north). Altough the beautiful view is really worth the drive. We walked both pathways, both great views.

the park is worth the visit. now you have to paid a entrance fee. price is 50 rpp. for 1 day or 80 rpp for two days. if you want you can do two parks in one day with the same ticket. it is worthwhile, if you have time to do them in two days, because 90% of the time, in the afternoon, clouds and fog in the canyons. parking prices are 5r per motorbike, 10r per vehicle and 20r per motorhome.now, during the pandemic, you must present vaccination certificate to enter.
important for dog owners. Dog are not allowed in the parks. it is strictly forbidden let dogs in the camper if you want park before the entrance gate.

A estrada para chegar até aqui é meio ruinzinha, mais vale muito a pena vir conhecer. O parque é gratuito e tem duas caminhadas, trilha do cotovelo 6km ida e volta e a trilha vértice 1,5km ida e volta. No centro de informação tem banheiros limpos e grátis. Aberto de terça a domingo das 8h até as 17h, não aceitam cachorros.

In Nov 2019 we visited from Praia Grande and then left on towards Cambara. The road is rough for about 20kms on both sides, but it is steeper with sharper bends coming up from the coast. We managed but it took about 2hours in our GMC Savana.
The canyon itself is pretty cool, with both walks away from the visitors centre being mostly flat and easy. Views are arguably better on the short walk to the Vertice mirador as there's a waterfall and views right down the canyon. Cotovelo was nice, but the walk to it is forested for the first 3km so you don't see anything for a while.
Entrance is free, toilets in the visitors centre, camping forbidden in the park.

You can take a bus from Praia Grande to Cambará do Sul and get of at the entrance. It is about 2 km from the turn off to the visitor center. The bus left at around 9:30 am, Monday to Friday, I think Saturdays, too. No bus on a Sunday from what I recall. I was here in April 2019. Paid 16 reais. In the evening I hitchhiked back to Praia Grande.

Definitely worth a look if you are heading down to the coast or inland to the wine areas. We aired down our tires and did the gravel at both ends with no issues.
