Description

Levi camp in Taftan. Journey with the levie escorts towards Quetta starts here. Most likely you'll spend one night here before you leave. Loads of people will visit you here to take pictures of you, your passport, your vehicle and your carnet. Some are Levies, other 'civil escort service' members (probably from pakistani secret service sector) asking you for social media accounts, phone numbers, email accounts, travel route, contacts in Pakistan, previous visits, etc.
Everybody is very friendly and calm.

Latest Check-Ins

We crossed the border on a Sunday thinking that the escort would leave on Monday morning but that was not the case... We left on Tuesday, so your plans don't matter, the escort sets the pace. It took us 2 days to reach Quetta, stopping in Dalbandin. Despite that, the officers are very friendly

Report Check-In

Forget to cross the border and get going at the same day. You will sleep one night here. The room and the toilet is very dirty but it’s free. There was no food provided so we had to cook for ourselves. They said there is no more gas so we had to use our own. Next day at 8:40 the first escort arrived. They made us do the 650km all the way to Quetta in one day. No rest on the way. No break. No lunch. Arrived in the night in Quetta at bloomstar hotel. Very tired 😉

Report Check-In

We were told that the escort won't leave later than 12, but our border crossing took too long and we still had to go to customs office with the Carnet for our van. So don't plan to start the escort on the same day of border crossing. To make it to the overnight stop in Dalbandin it takes all day anyway.
We could park inside the Levie station and use electricity in the evening. Slept very well.
In winter the escort is only every second day (Monday, Wednesday... not sure about the weekend), despite that and no other travellers arriving, we moved on a Tuesday.

Report Check-In

we arrived around 14.00. the guard are generally friendly but speak no English, only urdu.
the room where you sleep is not clean but it's only dust. there is a sofa but that's completely broken. the toilet looks like a stable for pigs. it's to nasty.
we had our own air-matrass and we needed it.
there is a better toilet that the levies use.

no wifi, electricity falls out a lot. so come prepared

Report Check-In

We left the Iranian border in the morning on a Friday. This means that we arrived in quetta on a Sunday because the escorte takes two days. Still weekend and we have to wait untill Monday to go for the NOC.

Report Check-In

I spend the night here.
Strange place but everyone is friendly.
They gave me lunch and diner.
The costems building is behind the station.

Report Check-In

We spent the night in the Levies station as expected. We left the day after to Dalbandin, then Quetta. We did our NOC and left the day after. Important : we were escorted until Lahore. It means three more days after Quetta.

Report Check-In

We came here at 09:00. After the first visit we drove to customs to fill out our carnet. Then we had to wait for the escort to come. About 5 hours. You can stay in a room yourself. You can also stay with the levies. We watched football and cricket. Got tea and lunch (14:00) potato and bread. They are all very nice and relax.
