Description

Idyllic setting, panoramic views of multiple surrounding volcanoes including Cotopaxi, situated alongside the huge forest reserve that they own. Pricey at $10 per person to camp and includes big breakfast which is fantastic, including yogurt from their dairy farm. Lots of green space to choose from. To get there, there is are sign on the highway (km9) marking the turnoff for Sierra Alisos. The 3.5 kilometers, 2.2 unpaved and the last part is a hill. Call Raul ( +593-989-405064/997-610001) IN ADVANCE. He is a motorcycle enthusiast- and offered me loads of great routes as only a native rider would know them! 220 V output is available.

We wanted to spend a night here but got stopped up the road where the private property begins- there is a gate now.
The guard tried to get someone from the campground on the phone but since the owners where but there we were not allowed to stay.
The guard was super friendly and sorry for us that we had to leave.
Better contact the owner beforehand.

What a gem this place is! Raul is a perfect host. He was quick to respond to WhatsApp questions. The number is posted in previous comments. We were directed to park near a newly constructed bathroom building which made bathroom trips and washing dishes easy for the family. Hot water shower is available and they turn it on for you and it takes an hour to warm up. We had a great time at the property the next morning walking on the trails with a visiting school group for the day. Our 7 year old really had fun with the kids. When we left we accidentally left our step stool in the bathroom for our 2 year old to use to reach sinks. Raul found it and even contacted us and suggested he meet us on our route to return it! Not many people would do that. Great property for camping and exploring the next day, comfortable sleeping weather for us and friendly and helpful hosts.

A beautiful place on the outside of Quito, but close enough to take a taxi and visit. The place is a farm with views of volcanoes and hills. The tranquility of the place and the kindness of the owners Raúl and Paola make this a perfect place to rest and enjoy. We arrived without problems in a 29-foot MH!! It only remains to thank Raúl and Paola for their attention, friendship and traveling information... Ahh and don't forget to try what Paola cooks!!! 100% recommendable. By far the best in Ecuador to stay in a motorhome!

Amazing!
The road to get to Sierra Alisos is a un-paved narrow road, but awesome. Condition is good enough, but maybe plan to get there before sunset. The last part is steep, after that follow the signs. We saw an overlanding camper truck there, had wifi, very good bathrooms and BBQ place. Roof-tent vehicules where allowed, and marvellous spots to camp. Some days between february and march this place is closed, due to rain season. Always call the owner before getting there!
